Lets see your Watches

Does anybody have an Omologato watch ? I've just seen this one on Twitter which I think looks very nice indeed for £370 and to my mind evoques the JPS Lotus 72...which is no bad thing at all

Nice. Like the bezel/strap combo on that.

I've got a Berlinetta Chronograph and have also bought a Le Mans Racing Black Chrono as a gift in the past.

I do like them and wear mine all the time, but they are a bit pricey. Their early attempts to get an automatic out of the door was delayed for months and they seem to have gone down the route of churning out a lot of models based on inexpensive (but proven) internals. It suits their business model - lots of genuine tie-ins with teams etc - but I wish they'd been a bit more restrained.

Now they have some autos in their line-up - see a few pages back - it will be interesting to see where they go from here. £550 doesn't seem like good value for money either, but then you see their watches being worn by racing drivers on the TV and think that they must be doing something right. I think the boss of the company is a proper petrolhead.

Seems quite expensive?

There's a huge amount of coice for watches in that price range at the moment, an alternative would be something like this from Briston at £280

Thanks MrT. That Briston looks nice quality, similar black/gold theme and almost £100 cheaper but I'm not so keen on the square dials and squared off case. It's a bit '60s retro maybe, like a TAG Heuer Monaco ?

I like that Berlinetta too. Looks very Breitling'ish
Is the Omologato boss a chap called Shami Kalra ? I think it was his post on Twitter where I saw that black/gold Heritage.

Yep. Seems like an enterprising chappie.

Any love for Seiko Dive watches here? I just ordered myself an SKX007J - I really only ordered it because I fancied a new hard-wearing daily - since Lock-down I've not had much reason to wear my Speedy, so have just defaulted to the G-Shock I normally only use Offshore. Fancied something a little less 'utilitarian'!

Bought it on a bit of a whim, having only done enough research to know I wanted the 'J' one rather than the 'K' one, but have since done a load more reading up, and understand they seemingly have quite a following, and a fair old 'mod' scene. I doubt I'll get much into that beyond a few different straps but it's fascinating stuff, and I'm now really excited to get my hands on the watch!!

Generic pic off Google below, whilst I wait for mine!

I've considered buying a Seiko Prospex 'Arnie' re-issue... so I can run about shouting 'Get to the choppa!' 8)

Funny you should say that, my dad had an original arnie watch as his diver watch years ago in the carribbean, but sadly lost it water-skiing - I've just bought him the reissue for his birthday coming up!

my dad bought this Rolex in Bahrain in the 70’s, still got the original receipt, he told me I must wear it every day, so I have for the last 20years. I find it funny how every asks me if it’s fake.😁

Tudor Pelagos is my daily worn 16011566272562815430842222558599.jpg

I've a Garmin Fenix I use for bikes and anything that may incur damage.

Also have a 50s Omega20160908_121036.jpg

And a 70s Seiko20151106_084317.jpg

I try and wear then all accaisionally but mostly it's the Tudor and Garmin that get used regularly.

My Tudor Black Bay ETA with Crafter Blue rubber strap is getting most of my wrist time currently.

Been pondering one of these for a while now

In my opinion, your first posted photo is the Benchmark.

Thanks Ronk I still have my Sub and Planet Ocean. The Sub is in my will for my grandson, it gives me great comfort he will wear it and think of his Gdad

I would thoroughly recommend the Tudor Black Bay, I went for the red bezel and changed the leather strap to a rubber to make it completely different from my other watches as per attached photo but I think it looks great with black, blue or red and blue GMT bezel with steel bracelet.
