Found this one of a pre-production version on twitter:

Final design looks slightly different. EDIT - found it...

Final product looks much better with the brushed case.

I would agree with that, it looks like it would get a few scuffs and scratches In polished form.

Here's my Fangio Carrera, a sentimental watch that i will never part with. And my recently sold Tudor GMT. Had it for a few months, enjoyed it and in true classic fashion solid it without losing any money. Bizarre world of watches. I'd like another, but it's a very chunky watch! If they ever make a BB58 case sized GMT i'd be all over it.

Thanks, I have been through several blogs including that one. Now waiting for Blancpain Paris to get back to me otherwise I"ll have to hope I can find someone who actually makes them, or maybe start digging around in rocking horse poo

I’ve followed this post and the first watch posted is I think the bench mark!
Yes. Can't believe I turned one down for $1,000USD in 1996. Hindsight's always 20/20 :headbang:

The quality is not there, for the money they charge it should be at a higher level. Rolex Tudor GMT came out with defective date jumping, up to 70% of the first issue had this. Rolex GMT bezels with problems, . Service is not cheap and most their watches are not complicated. The Daytona with a "high" value ,,, ref 16520 is in fact a Zenith movement. 1990-2001. I"ve had probably a dozen Rolex"s over the years and the only thing I"m happy about is they are easy to sell,,,, all down to the hype and marketing

Rolex quality is there in spades, it’s the hype and shortage of supply that as increased the prices. A SS Daytona list price is circa £9500 but people will pay 10k on top of that to secure one, if that’s what you want and you have the Money go for it, but what it does is, lift prices of all SS Rolex Sports second hand watches as well.

My Submariner 1985 (first watch page one) is a 16800 purchased by me In 2012 costing £2800 off a watch forum. It had been completely refurbished by Rolex St James In 2008 the value now is circa £6500 trade and the only reason it’s that value is down to shortage and speculators. The overall finish, quality and Time keeping of my watch is nothing short of superb not forgetting it’s last service was 12 years ago. I will never realise a profit,as it’s destined for my grandsons wrist on my demise, and hopefully it will serve him well throughout his adult life, as it’s Rolex I trust it will

I agree with you on the hype and speculation, but that"s it. Value for money they are not.

Depends how you look at it. Buy a premium SS Sports watch for list price, which is then priced just a tad higher then other premium brands, but with the Rolex, the watch increase’s in value while the others fall, I would call that good value

I am on the waiting lists, have done for a few years, like I said,,, easy to sell, at a profit. I"ve had 2 Subs, 1 SD, 2 GMTs, 1 SD Anniversary, 3 Tudor GMTs. It"s a money item, not the quality watchmaking associated with those prices. I keep IWC, JLC, Blancpain, some older watches but not Rolex, as said I like the money from them but have no interest in keeping them. Yes those watches can be expensive to repair, Rolex"s are not complicated yet cost ca £500 for a service no parts included, they don"t even put the bracelet back on.

If you have a good relationship with your Rolex AD then good for you, but for some people buying SS sport watches at retail is impossible. I was lucky to get my 126710BLRO without previous purchase history
