I agree black or dark wheels on a black car get lost. As for what you should do?? But I really like the colour you used on your mates wheels. I am painting the backs and between the spokes on mine over the cold months I fancy that a lot  might have to get more info off you.

Thanks, it's getting there.

The CSL's will be on next weekend as well as an OEM strut brace. Front bumper being resprayed over winter while she is laid up.

Yeah I agree. Think I'll go eith the pearl gray and see how they look. Maybe add a bit of that candy magic :)

A 12 y/o thought she'd do her mum a favour and touch up a chip on my old zed. Then tried to get it off with a brillo pad...

So I wiped the touch up paint off with thinners and polished the scrathes out with 3m fast cut then extrafine

I've had to mop my mates car when he used a dish pad to get bird poop off lol.. 3m's and kept the paint nice and cool :-)

Oh I did that in direct sunlight lol. Paints not as delicate as people make it out to be. I've never burned through paint when buffing. But when the damage results in hundreds worth of paintwork then you'd do your best to minimise the risk.

Just split and painted these headlights for a friend. Will be doing something similar on the M if I can find a way of getting in!!

Splitting is basically just running a dremmel type tool around the join between the clear and black plastic parts. Sadly no way they can be opened by heat or solvent, so it's a much more messy and time consuming affair.

When I pioneered fitting AE about 5 years ago I used to use donor sets, saving a front off one and rear off the other, but these are too expensive now so you have to make do with a decent silicone seal and aligning the 2 parts.

Spraying looks good. I used to do that with X5 lights to make them a bit more classy than oem

Haha I've read your thread more than once great work! Yeah my thoughts were to cut them open cleanly and bond them back together with some plates for extra strength but we'll see.

Nice project. Sounds like it'll be a right bargain.

It seems so until you start sourcing m parts! I've been trying to get a driveshaft for a while now and am just waiting on a used one I managed to find for 130. Bmw want £540 and my old driveshaft in exchange! They're on drugs tbh.
