Not free when you factor in fuel costs and waiting in the queue, buzybuzyg said:Can you guys not run any garden waste down to the local tip for free?
It was part of the council tax charge, we were told, when they rolled it out.Nanu said:We have had to pay extra for our garden waste for a couple of years now. We just put ours in bags and put it in the normal household bin in protest. A scattering of cat litter on top tends to stop anyone having a check to make sure that only household waste is in the bin
Rates are high enough without having to pay for additional services that used to be free.
Our council tip is next to Waitrose, so we just do tip and shopping together. :wink:firebobby said:Not free when you factor in fuel costs and waiting in the queue, buzybuzyg said:Can you guys not run any garden waste down to the local tip for free?![]()
They did that here too, not anymore though.Nanu said:Our council used to collect garden waste free and recycle it by composting it and selling it back to you at £2 per bag. It was a good scheme.
Now they just charge to collect it and have not got a clue what they do with it now.
I was banned from the tip at Booker (high heavens) in 2008, and the one at Bledlow Ridge in 2007. Different reasons but the same outcome!firebobby said:Not free when you factor in fuel costs and waiting in the queue, buzy
Bledlow closed a few years ago, didn't go to often as they were a bunch of monkeys.Pondrew said:I was banned from the tip at Booker (high heavens) in 2008, and the one at Bledlow Ridge in 2007. I'm struggling to think how you get banned from a tip, poor quality of rubbish deposited?![]()
I have 2 life bans from the MR2 ROC forum, so even being bitten during a zombie apocalypse is not getting me back on there.

They were both quite funny really, but me being a mouthy git, fairly easily.Scubaregs said:I'm struggling to think how you get banned from a tip, poor quality of rubbish deposited?
