well today i OFFICIALLY cancelled sky, I'm paying 72 quid per month or 864 quid Per year, YEAHH to watch fucking average TV,!! My household is in turmoil right now lol, but I've got sick of the same crap all the time repeated, and all we ever seem to watch is the FTV channels anyway, and sky is just charging WAY WAY to much for their average Tv service, so today i made the call, they didn't try to talk me out of it, and I'm glad they didn't, so..... in 2 months time i can Re-subscribe for the same package for 60% off for 6 months and a free 1tb box ( saw the offer at one of those sky kiosks), then do the same at the end of that contract, time to play the game for me... sick of spending money hand over fist to the fat cats for below par products/services. it has to change. If we All did s**t like this they'd never charge 72 quid per month in the first place, i know its abit of a ball ache but, i have new to sky friends with the same package paying half price and sky won't even offer a 15% discount to a customer thats been with them for 7 years....

change soon come. :fuelfire: :fuelfire:

Bloody ell that is a lot-had a grumble at them at the weekend for my sky+HD box missing out recordings when I have the series link record highlighted.

the skybox turns into freesat once cancelled, don't even have to worry about Tv, or pay for freesat card. Your existing card swaps over.

We can't get sky here because in Edinburgh City centre with it being of historic significance we cannot have a sky dish and if you want one you need to get planing permission. Sod that!

Don't watch enough TV and that amount is just ghastly! We do have Now TV, have to say for £4.99 a month it's not bad. Only really watch discovery or the walking dead and catch up is not too bad. The movies package got £8.99 a month is alright but think I'll be giving that the heave ho as were not using it at the mo.

Never had $ky, never missed it, the only think I'd want $ky for is Discovery & F1

+1. Never seen the attraction. When I've seen it at friends etc, it's mostly rubbish anyway. I can get that for free :D

That's not Freesat, it's called 'Free to View'.

I ditched Sky a few years ago - no regrets . We live in a village where we have only just got fibre optic - speed has increased from less than 1mb to 13mb . We're with TalkTalk and have just started an 18 month contract that for £38 a month you get a free Youview box ( catch up , record , all Iplayers , 8 HD channels - absolutely brilliant - in particular 4OD that gives you a whole load of complete series of present and previous drama's ) , anytime calls and free international calls to a number of countries incl Australia , Portugal etc. We.ve been on this deal for a couple of months and as yet have had no internet breaks or problems.

But how will I watch game of thrones without sky Atlantic

Oh no wait I could download it I guess......

It sky is £96 a month for all HD packages and broadband supposed to be 16mb getting about 2mbs absolute joke.

Thinking the same thing... All I watch is discovery and history best channels

Be careful with some of those offers, as I tried to do it once and the small print said it was not available for existing customers or people who've been customers in the last 2 years.

Never bothered trying to go back after that as it was only the F1 I was watching, which I know watch via a mate's SkyGo account as he doesn't use the mobile functions.

Can't say I've missed it as I'm never in to watch it anyway, and I get most stuff I want on freeview HD and freessat HD through the TV and old Sky dish.

I called sky a few weeks ago and I said it was too expensive so they reduced it by 20% for 8 months. Just like that. Pay 58 quid now. Still a lot of money though!

Gosh £72 a month, I spend £41, with half price movies which is about to be cancelled. All I watch on TV is recorded form Sky, haven't watched BBC or ITV for a long time, except Sherlock

I ring every 6 months and threaten to cancel and have always got 50% off for 6 months
Helps the 50 odd quid I pay
