Just ask them what they drive 
Half the time it will be a POS, and take them for a spirited drive, that always convinces them :lol:
I honestly thing the Z4 is like the Porsche Boxter, a true drivers car. No more Females to males own them, but its just because it a vert. My mate had the 3 series vert and everyone said that was a birds car, so you can never win :wink:

I got this ALOT when I got mine, What does tend to shut them up is reminding them that your Girly hairdresser car is faster, better looking and better built than the POS they drive
It is more commonly known as jealousy. 8) And I love it now when they try to take the P. I just tell them that i interpret every insult as a compliment because they are jealous and therefore feel the need to slag it off. My common reply now to an insult is a simple "thanks and thank god I don't drive a POS like you.

It's usually insults of "Gayer!" that seem to get directed at my car, which perhaps says more about me than I'd care to admit?
Quite often have it referred to as a hairdresser's car. My normal response is to point to my own hair and ask them if they really think a hairdresser would have hair as bad as mine...

I've had quite a few people comment it's a nice car or a cool car. When I first got it a lot of people said things like "congratulations" and "well done", which seemed a bit odd, like I'd got married or spawned a child or something!
Have to say, other than mates trying to wind me up, never experienced this... thankfully.
I get hairdresser, mid life crisis, burd car all the time from people that know me only in jest. Anyone who doesn't know me has only every been heard saying nice car, i guess the wife right i do have a bit of a psycho look about me.
Personally i dont give a crap when i drive out of work with the roof down, most folk have kids and cannot have cars like this they're just jealous.

Personally I just punch them in the mouth, and ask
"is that what you expected from a Hairdresser?"

I used to drive a huge lifted truck, so people are usually just shocked at the difference in size.
I have one friend that calls it a miata, but he drives a corvette, so I will allow that from him.

No one ever said that to me ... in the last 3 weeks driving all over the USA I got 
from a lot of bikers comments such as "sweet car" or "nice car" even "good looking car"
If ever someone would tell me it's a girly car I would simply tell them yes it may be bud it's all mine, paid for and I love it.
