Had a couple of lovely days out on recces for further Newcastle runs with Steph but I can't be the only one that finds we end up annoying folk on the road?
I've resigned myself to the fact that we can't go out in the Zed without spooking or upsetting some folk when overtaking - it's probably a function of the Zed's performance and their lack of experience of how much room is needed and how capable the Zed is?
We do an overtake and a car will honk or flash it's lights behind us. We'll take an opportunity with plenty of safety and room and oncoming vehicles will flash. It's not every manoeuvre but it seems we can't go out a day without this happening at least once.
Now - I enjoy my driving and make the most of opportunities but I am IAMs trained, use their overtaking four point approach and prefer to enjoy myself within legal speeds on the road as I want to keep my licence, so we're not looking at hooligan vehicle use, more spirited enjoyment.
There's no doubt that in some cases a little jealousy might be a factor as we always have the roof down and I'm always in sunglasses (contact lens wearer) and my wife has blonde hair and sometimes I can see it's a two fingered approach but others are so easily spooked by the sound of the Zed in a low gear and despite lying back before an overtake (for better viewing and not to crowd them) some still flash and honk as we pull in after an overtake. . . . . .
It'll only occur the once but it's something I've come to expect on a run out. Surely it can't always be my driving :? Anyone else?
