Are you referring to the Winter solstice, a celebration the Christians camped on 2000 years ago by any chance?Fast3000 said:+1 OP. nice for the kids but the true meaning has long been forgotten.....
What a load of tat!NathanZ4C said:Bl00dy hate it.
I work in the city so its full of people clambering over each other to buy what is generally tat.
You are pressured into buying tat for the sake of buying tat. For people you mostly neither want to buy for or receive from.
You then have to pretend that your pleased to have received your tat, only to take it home, put it in a draw or back of the cupboard and watch it fall out in a few years time.
For the last 2-3 years i have brought the said tat for people because its what they expect but ive generally asked people to give the cost of my present to either a childrens charity or the British Heart Foundation. There are far more worthly causes than me. I can a afford a £10k+ car so i dont want for need things for the sake of having them
I think that you'll find that this celebration has been around a little longer than Christianity.SUUNTOBOB said:Are you referring to the Winter solstice, a celebration the Christians camped on 2000 years ago by any chance?Fast3000 said:+1 OP. nice for the kids but the true meaning has long been forgotten.....
