Any one waiting for the above the part # is 84212199389 and list price is £94.99 :o but Sopers will do better than that

No sign yet physically yet though

I just use two phones - one tatty old one for the car, and a newer one for the home/office.

i want the i4 snapin....... post how it works ASAP please,,,,, i will then go and order one!!

Issue for my Z an 07 is that with the Factory fit BlueTooth the Box that the snap in for 3G/3GS and certainly the iP4 fits into has to be upgraded
So if you do not already have a 3G/3Gs cradle you will need the upgraded eject box that is wide enough to take 3G onwards width ....additional cost and fitting so if you
decide to go for the iP4 snap in ensure you quote the Car Reg to check if you need the new eject box to take the larger 3G onwards snap in
If you already have it you will know all about it :) I had to upgrade to take the 3G snap in

unless i have missed the obvious here..... but whats the point of the snap in adapter apart from charging your phone?

Seems a bit of a hassel to have to open the cubby and then plug the phone in... only to forget to collect it when you leave your car!

True I just use a USB cigarette adaptor and a vent holder so I can use the phone as a gps speedo/scamra warning device...all was about 14 quid from eBay!

What about the new one in march that goes where the nav is
Looks fantastic and allows dull use of phone, music etc and nav from wheel controls I believe :poke:

Which one is that ?

that looks very very nice, would Bluetooth be required in the car for this to work or would it be hard wired?

According to the BMW snap-in adapter checker:

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/navigation/bluetooth/compatibility_check_intro.html

... a snap-in adapter is available for E85/E86 for the iPhone 3GS ... but you have to have a new eject box installed (because the iPhone 3 is wider than the original eject box that comes with the car in the fold-down thingie between the seats) ...

However, according to the same BMW online checker above ... a snap-in adapter is not offered for the iPhone 4 for the E85/E86 models ... and I was told that this is because the iPhone 4 is even wider than a 3GS ... and there is not enough space for an eject box to hold it (or that they have not made a new eject box to hold it in the E85/E86 model).

Soooo ... it sounds to me like the iPhone 4 snap-in adapter that works with other BMWs would actually work fine ... if it could be fitted. And so I was wondering if anyone has managed to fit an iPhone 4 snap-in adapter into the fold down box between the 2 seats?

P.S. I am not interested in people who have managed to get Bluetooth to sync with their iPhone 4 without using an adapter because:
a) it is just dangerous ... and
b) I really don't want to be radiated by the mobile phone ... the whole point is to hook it up (at least partly) to the external antennae.

Yes the iPhone4 adapter will fit BUT you have to remove two small "wings "to allow it to drop down ....will be obvious when offered up which bit needs to come off .Once removed fits as the same part in the 1Series A Dremel sorted it in seconds

You do of course need the latest (ie 3G/S) eject box the original will not fit any iPhone

Looks like B84.21.2.153.098 £62.49 plus VAT back in 2/2010.
You would need to give the vin to ensure compatibility with your particular vehicle
