Surely that's common sense though? Its a huge phone and very thin so its going to bend or break under force? Its not just an apple thing, while most phones are plastic and therefore don't bend and retain the bend the internet is rife with numerous phones snapping or cracking screens when being put in pockets.

So you are saying its common sense not to put a phone in your pocket and sit down? :?

I'll not rise to such a response, you knew exactly what I meant but you wanted to start an argument/be clever, which isn't going to happen because this conversation isn't important enough.

Evidence: I notice that you fully understood with your next post:

I don't think its an issue of sitting on it, more that if its in your front pocket it will naturally bend with the crease in your trousers. Its not like its a small thing either and would sit in the bottom of your pocket like phones of the past did. In fact im amazed it even fits in pockets.

When a new phone comes out, there will always be a group of people hell bend on proving that the product is faulty in any way, especially from an Apple product that always will be a target like that.

It is not an issue for me, but then I have the normal iPhone 6, and I am actually careful with my expensive purchases.

I think it's hilarious people go wild for thinner, shinier, swankier phones then have to put them in an ugly great big case to stop them breaking. Properly pointless.

Well ye, Apple has been slated for being miles behind without a large format phone and as soon as it comes out its slated as being too big yet has the same size screen as the rest of the comp. There are always people who think products should be specifically designed for them and their purpose and those people that shout up usually have different needs to the masses. Its the same with cameras. Individual products always fail and the product needs to target a broad audience or it will fail sometimes creating huge damage to a company stopping innovation for the next product.

Canon is a perfect example, they have used the same APC sensor for the last 6 years with a small update on the same technology in the latest update but performs very similar and people are frustrated including myself. But in other areas they have the best AF you can get with the dual pixel AF system which gives video camera performance from a mirrored system, also the lenses cannot be beaten and they continually bring new and updated lenses out. But the issue sensors are aimed at the amateur and Canon makes all its money from selling enthusiast cameras, the pro stuff sells 10-1 in comparison.

Comparing them to Panasonic and Sony who are arguable making the most inroads into the market, The GH4 more affordable 4k camera, A6000 11FPS and an AF system which covers 98 percent of the sensor which is £7000 1DX territory in a body <£700. The A7 series of Full Frame Mirrorless cameras with the best sensors currently available rivalling medium format at less than £1000, insanely accessible tech for the masses. But their ecosystem isn't as good, poor customer service and no professional services (making them useless for me) but innovative products. Sony lenses are made by Zeiss and have a premium price, but perform very middle of the road compared to the canon and Nikon equivalents and cost 10-20% more. So the cameras are amazing but the lenses are pretty crap and there is a very small selection making the system useless for most users and it is a big compromise. So the ecosystem and option for native technology is small, yet the sensors and features are the best you can buy.

Canon currently has 49% market share and sony is sat in third with 12%. Evolution is just as important and innovation, perfecting a product over the years. Which is where successful companies win and have dedicated followers.

Its the same with android they stick the newest tech in their phones which is great but its months before it has any actual functional use. Whereas Apple waits to ensure the tech has a purpose to its users before implementing it, which is very annoying but the products always work pretty much flawlessly. The adoption of IOS8 is at 46% already when only the iPhone 4 and up can use it, pretty impressive adoption that 46% is apparently equates to 85% of current active devices. The figures are no where near the same with android, Kit Kat was announced in October 2013 nearly a year ago and adoption figure is 24%.

Well of course it's going to bend if you bend it hard enough.

I am sure if you pull a woman's breasts hard enough, they will fall off.

I rest my case.

Thank you :)

Taking a brand agnostic pov, I think you can thank the Apple marketing machine for this. Operates in a way to continually tease before 'allowing' its user base to take advantage. Also has the added benefit of showing they care about getting it right (not saying they always do by the way!). I'd also say the media in general identifies with it's public and anything Apple is usually hyped as its seen as sexy tech. Strange also given the user base of iOS is significantly lower than those of Android.

See Apple's quality hasn't improved then. If it bends it shouldn't be on the market.

Still so long as it's got that little Apple stamped on the back people will buy them.

That is unfair. Your car would not work trying to get up a muddy mountain either, you would use an appropriate car for that.

Same here, if you want to put it in your pocket, buy the standard 6 - if you want a tablet, don't put it in your pocket, they have a better product for that.

It's a phone not a car. The quality of the 5 was crap and why I went away from their products. Spending 500 quid on a phone and it comes in box with chipped screens and finish from the factory says it all to me. It's the Apple hype that sells.
