Bought a set of powdercoated 107 wheels from Simon Ireland on Facebook a few weeks back. They arrived but one of the boxes had been damaged in transit resulting in one chipped and scratched wheel.

Simon was brilliant about it, and I sent the wheel back for him to sand back and re-powdercoat before sending back to me. It arrived back today and looking pristine again.

Cant wait to get these on the car and can highly recommend Simon if you’re looking for a good set of OEM refurbished wheels with exemplary service.

Best wheel for a pre-facelift without a doubt. Glad to see the back of those horrid 108s

Great choice - 107s just look so right, especially on Roadsters.

Always thought the red 3rd brake light worked well on a black car and balances the rear tail lights, so as my clear one was not working anymore I took the opportunity to switch out. Its an Amazon £25 special and the fit isnt perfect due to the rubber gasket it comes with being slightly too thick, but it works, seems watertight and looks good.

Will be on the lookout for an OEM one at some point Im sure, but for now its fine.

Old light wouldn't budge as the long screws just kept turning as I tried to remove the nuts - even with vice grips, so resorted to brute force.

(Yes - the car needs a clean too!)

Popped over to my local tyre place this lunchtime and got the 107’s fitted, replacing the 108s that were on there. Think they look perfect.

Car looks much better on the 107s! Is the third light the one from Amazon

They finish the car off perfectly IMO.
Yes - third light was in fact Amazon, not eBay.

Car looks perfect with the wheels, but I may have already mentioned once or twice that they are the perfect set for a pre-facelift.

Thanks for the pointer to your build thread, [ref]inkey$[/ref]

Love the new wheels! They work great on the roadster, especially on the darker colours, contrasting nicely to the body but matching the style 8)

A few jobs done today. Painted and lacquered the plastics on my second hand MFSW. More on that in my refurb thread but her’s a pic…

Started the day with a full wash of the car and roof. Basic wash for the bodywork, but the roof I attacked with Miltons tablet water, then Johnsons baby bath and a brush to decontaminate and do the basic clean.

Followed this up with some AG roof cleaner and protector, just because I had some in the garage and its a lot better than it was before. Will see how it dries out and may need to re-dye the fabric, but so far so good.

While the car was clean I thought I’d have a go at polishing the dull rear wing. Using my DA polisher, Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish with an orange Hex pad, its come up a treat.

Before and after, below…

I’ve just installed my newly refurbished MSport wheel. Took 10 mins after disconnecting the battery, and all plugs seemed to find a home going back in - the MFSW white plug went in on the right, next to the central airbag one on the steering column array.

Looks and feels great but the MF buttons don't work. Plugged in my C110+ scanner knowing I already had an airbag light on for SBSR, and but when I scanned the central console it came up with this…E5C7 CID: Communication: IBUS transmit fault.

After clearing it and checking again it seemed to be gone. Any ideas what it was?

Whats really strange though is my SBSR airbag light has disappeared. The one linked to the battery terminal.
SBSR: satellite B-pillar right - 98F Resistance, firing circuit, safety battery terminal (E85), or belt tensioner, rear right (E6x), too high

Gone, Erradicated. I’m confused!!

I did notice when disconecting the battery that when as I was removing the negative lead, the interior light came on making me think the lead was not making 100% contact 100% of the time. Surely not though right?

Anyway, here’s the currently non-MF, MFSW in situ….

Such a great improvement. I haven't looked at it, but what were the steps involved in removing the wheel? I need to do that as well as even the steering wheel badge is oxydated

The plastic parts on mine need doing as well, and strangely I dont't have MFSW buttons.

Even without the buttons currently not working, its night and day in terms of feel and aesthetics IMO. Guide I followed was this one...

Perfect - thanks.

Is the Msport thinner than the one I have? It feels like a monster

I think they're probably the same, just one has the buttons.
