Beat me to it! I was digging around to find it as that is how I ended up getting power to the auxiliary water pump on the 2.0.
I put a piggy back connector into the spare F2.

F2 looks like a winner to me too. A job for a sunny Sunday morning!

If you get those piggy back connectors they obviously have two fuse holders, assuming you'll be us in an existing fuse position.
I don't want to get into how long I spent trying to work out why I had no power until I realised that what looked like the obvious socket for my single fuse wasn't the correct one. :headbang:

A piggy-back connector is what I have prepped. Usually I'd hook it up to the rear screen demister, but noted on F2!

Impressive progress.....put my efforts to shame.............still detailing and paint correcting

Something will break by then
We’ll find out tomorrow. On my first proper trip out of London for the weekend, back to Suffolk.
Am sure something will be added to my list

Exactly that! Going armed with a big blanket and all fingers crossed. Otherwise it may have to go in my mates 330 back to London and I pick it up anohter day. Will be the most travelled black sapphire door in forum history

First longer trip out to Suffolk and only one minor gremlin. Stopped off and when I resumed driving the seat occupancy bong started going off but then went off after 5 or so seconds. Need to check that wiring under the passenger seat I think. Could also be the main issue with my airbag light.

Sounds like witch craft to me but looking forward to seeing how you do it as I would like to do the same!

Im not 100% sure but if you have something plugged into the cigarette lighter, even when the cars off it draws power? Would it be the same piggy backing through a fuse? My cigarette lighter is broken, a previous owner has pulled it through and broken the internal clip in the surround so everytime you pull an accessory out the whole socket comes with it, super annoying!

Trying to find the whole surround and in the right finish for the M without damage has been quite hard to find but this would solve the problem!

You just need to piggy back off a fuse thats only hot with the ignition (e.g. rear screen heater/demister). Pretty easy to do and with all the wires hidden behind the trim and dash, a neat solution. I’ll write it up once I get around to it.

Sounds good! looking forward to the read

Back from Suffolk and the answer is yes - you can transport an enuff_zed sourced Z4 door in the passenger seat of a Z4 quite comfortably.

My friends lad turned 18 in November and passed his driving test last Monday. What better way to start your driving life than purchasing a 2005 987 Porsche Boxter 2.7. Suffice to say we tested the close performance theory between this and my 3.0 and they were very evenly matched. Better build quality in the Porsche though. Interior was lovely - even for a 2005 car.

Journey back to London yesterday was lovely. All the B roads I could find between mid-Suffolk and south east London. One other issue raised its head which was on my list anyway - sticky steering. With roof down all the way and the heater on high for a few hours, the steering was both sticky and notchy when I came off the B roads and increased my speed on the south circular.

Been doing some forum reading up on this issue and seems a fairly simple issue to remedy with a 5-10mm anticlockwise turn of the worm gear control ring...

Didn't realise there was an easy fix for the sticky steering - on mine at the time, the dealer replaced the entire steering column (under warranty).

Good suff

Must admit I didn't either, but seems its not as catastrophic as you would first think!
