Well she's finally landed here in the UK, container moved to a warehouse in Southampton and unpacked ready for collection, all shipping and import taxes paid, wasn't too bad tbh, £300 landing fee plus 5% of the price of the car and shipping, due to work commitments I can't collect until next Tuesday, I'm travelling to and stopping in Southampton next Monday night and collecting Tuesday morning

Gonna be a looooooooong week :trampoline: :titshake: :happyclap:

Thats great news so far. What sort of costs are you looking at for shipping and so on then, if you don't mind me asking.

It wasn't too bad Steve, the shipping was $1800 ish, which included collection via transporter to LA, 1500 odd miles, there's a £300 landing charge from the freight guys this end, for collection, unpacking, sorting customs paperwork etc, and only a 5% import duty based on the vehicle cost plus shipping value, that's because of the 240's age and rarity its classed as Historic.

I'd definately not be scared about importing again, everyone involved, booking agent, shipper and freight guys this end have been spot on and kept me informed throughout

Well I collected the car on Tuesday and bought it back home, it needs a good clean and there are a few little paint chips from it's journey, nothing too horrendous though, I'm pleased to say it's exactly as advertised, I know I'd seen pics but I was still a little apprehensive :D

There's an abundance of history and receipts, for restoration labour and parts :o :o :o and 3 CD's of the restoration, car stripped and engine too, the body is amazing, it even has the spot welds on the arches and sills, I've ordered a passenger door mirror from USA, best to be safe than sorry, next week it will have the electrical work done, then MOT then send away the documents for registration, so if all goes well could be on the road by early June :driving:
