The suspense must be painful  how will the last part of the journey from Southampton be done ?

I'm collecting Andy, by trailer, I've got to pay customs some money when it lands so I'd like to see it before I pay :driving:

What happens if it is damaged

It's insured with the shipping company, it's got a 1500+ mile trip to California on a transporter, closed hopefully , then into a container for a month, full cover insurance is only 1.5% of value so $450 which I don't think is too bad tbh

That's good, although I guess it will be strapped down well.

Congrats Darren, looks nice. What have you got to change to get it through an MOT, just the headlights?

I've found out a little more for the MOT Steve, the rear tail lights are different, the American ones don't have an amber strip for the indicators, instead the Brake lights flash, where a Euro spec car has the Amber strip the USA ones are Red and used as running lights, euro spec lenses are available for $2000 + repro ones for about $500 plus shipping, easiest thing is to convert the reversing lights into indicators and also the running lights on the side of the car, it'll be like Blackpool Illuminations! :)

Also it's been collected from the seller today and on its way to the docks in California

So you can use the existing rear lights with a bit of work then

Yes, it's a common thing, I've found some other lenses in Adelaide for $550 plus shipping but atm I'll get the auto electrician to sort out for the MOT and maybe convert at a later date

The cars arrived at the warehouse in LA and will be loaded over the weekend ready for shipping, the shipping company have been excellent, when it arrived at their warehouse they took about 30 pics of the car pointing out every blemish, to cover themselves I suppose, it's not too bad tbh, there's a little scratch on the tailgate, should polish out, one on the rear arch down by the bottom, looks like I can touch that in, it's not as big as a finger nail, and a dint in the drivers side chrome trim, I'm really pleased tbh, it had a long way to travel from Seattle to LA so not bad all things considered.

I've decided to get some new euro spec Tail lights Steve, well repro ones, no good spoiling the ship etc it would probably cost almost as much for the auto electrician to mess about, the new ones come with wiring harnesses

Sorry can't post pics on my ipad, don't know how to tbh, Tapatalk was much easier! :D

So when should you get your hands on it, and can you drive it straight away?

It will land early May, then it needs to be registered, the electrical conversions done and finally MOT'd so I'd say by the end of May it will be on the road Steve :driving:
