Will definitely looking at the BMW Mondial policy when mines up, sounds a bargain for what Maniac is paying.
I'm always in two minds either have the policy or save some money in the hope nothing goes wrong and if it does take it to an indi. I've had the Z3 4 years with no warranty but things slightly caught up with me this year,
Wiring loom failed that feeds into the bootlid, well known problem on E36s and once the cables fractures you lose central locking and brake lights. I bought a new loom at £120 and booked it in to BMW, they quoted me £230 labour but didn't realise how difficult the job would be to do and it took them 2 days but they honoured the quote
Few months later front caliper failed and as the discs were past their best anyways booked it into BMW for new discs, calipers, sensors and pads. The bill was £930
:? I had no idea a caliper was £210, thought it would be around 60 quid. So on the Z4 I think it will be prudent to have some sort of extended warranty, granted It wont cover brake parts.
