In/Out of Warranty?

Well lets put it this way, I just renewed mine (BMW Mondial) and put the excess from £0 to £250 to save some cash. One week before renewal, a wheel bearing started to make a noise. £490 fitted. I paid nothing. Even on the new plan I'd have saved £240.

BMW Mondial. It seems the best cover for the money, and, its seamless when claiming, no paperwork, no chasing, just take the car in and get it fixed. BMW sort out the paperwork.

Absoutely right - don't understand how anyone would risk running something like a Z4 without warranty cover.

I think the price also rises quite a lot after 50 or 60k miles (can't remember which).

Still quite a good bargain, I had a gen2 Porsche cayman with only 6,000 miles and even a third party warranty in its third year was over £900.
 
So.... Flybobbie and I are the only owners without any warranty :(


I have just checked and can get BMW/Mondial Comprehensive cover with a £250 excess for £547.00 which doesn't seem too bad overall?

Can anyone confirm whether the roof is actually covered, as bodywork is specifically excluded?
 
£547? I've got bmw comprehensive with £250 excess for £270?! I'd have to check the policy on the roof but I would expect the roof 'mechanism' to be covered.
 
Indeed Maniac, but your car has a few less than 78,000 miles on it! I guess at this sort of mileage I am much more likely to see Injector/Vanos/Diff Issues.

I know the Volvo extended warranty excluded the roof in its entirety as it was 'part of the bodywork'. The roof on the C70 makes the E89 look like Lego in terms of complexity and I have yet to find a Volvo dealership with any technical ability... I guess the E89 is the least of my worries :)
 
Will the BMW warranty be valid if you have coil overs? I have an aa warranty which came with the car and expiring in jan, and deciding whether to keep third party (not aa but maybe warranty wise ) but just about to check out BMW now

They may try and wriggle out of any claim which in any way could be attributed to the springs, so wheels, shocks, steering faults etc. best to double check
 
I signed up to the BMW warranty over a week ago. They took the first payment by card. I'm sure they said I would receive some documentation but I haven't. Do they send anything out or is that it?

EDIT: Scratch that. Docs just turned up in the post.
 
Warranty here on older Z, costs a fair bit more than some of the prices quoted above but I have already had over 36 months worth of premium out of mondial :thumbsup: for me it's there not for the odd squeak and rattle but for when that one big disaster occurs.
