If your Z4 was a famous person or character

Here's an unusual one to get you thinking. A Marketing friend asked me the following,

If your Z4C was a famous person or character who would it be?

To me the Z4C is beautiful, sleek, powerful and understated - got me thinking of Marion Jones (athlete - pre-steriods) or Jessica Alba in her Dark Angel role. Couldn't think of any famous male people or characters that fitted. Wonder what this says about the brand image/personality of the car?

What do you think?

Dave

I call my Z4M for 'Taz',

which many of you might know is Warner Brother's Tazmanian Devil character.

Why?

Well, IMHO technically the Z4M has a kind of metallic snare/growl beast like sound to it's motor and the car is not about perfection like the Porsche, but is a bit of a bully who can be a handful and comes and surprises you so you have to treat with a little care or else he will make you feel like a whirlwind just passed over you head.

And Taz's always growling and snarling and is all over the place like a whirlwind, up to pranks and bad behaviour, generally just a disturbance and a rebel doing whatever he feels like in the moment . . .

Kinda what I feel my car is doing when we are out cruising (NOT ME, my car, honest!!)

color: your avatar is pure hilarity! I like your synopsis with regards to describing your Z.
For me, mine reminds me of a pit bull chained to a tree who hasn't exercised in a week. It's off the chain when I let it out!
As for a famous name, I don't have one, I always think of the mean dog that's itching to get lose.

Hmm... interesting topic. I'd have to say my car would have to be Kate Beckinsale. Sleek, sexy, good looking, commands a lot of attention in public (especially with the top down). But most importantly, like any woman scorned, can be a real kick in the pants when need be. Looks are nothing without functionality, so if you look fast and athletic you'd had better be prepared to show the goods. That's the best part of the Z4, civilized daily driver with all the necessary oomph to have some fun at the drop of the hat and doing it in style the entire time. Now if I could only find a way to get Kate into my Z4, then we'd be cooking!

I guess that says something about the difference in owner's perceptions of between the Z4 and Z4M - Kate BeckinZ4le (in kick-ass leather?). JessiZ4Ca Alba (kicking-ass in DA) versus the TaZ4Maniam devil. The M does sound a bit wild

Like the Taz name our Z4 is Blue so we call it Blue but my 325I is Balck and I call it TAZ also

Oh I don't know this is a good one. Can't really say I have an answer either other than to mimic others. The car is a tame beast till it gets passed or tailgated by the wrong car, then it's game on!

Jekyl/Hyde? I'm a pretty mellow driver, top down, being seen. Tonight I had a early 80s 911 revving next to me at a light. I smoked her because either she was just trying to keep the motor running, or she just can't drive. She stalled it at the line, I was off and onto the freeway and moving past 80 when I realized she was still back there at the light. I immediately lifted off the accelerator, moved to the right lane and resumed my contented cruise home.

I have a hard time thinking of her as any other character, because as far as I'm concerned, Bluesie IS a character in her own right. My friends ask about her by name, and a few say "Hello, Bluesie" when we approach her. Well, now that I think of it, ladies do that... guys don't seem to quite so much.

The question wasn't really about the name you give your car, it was about the personality of the car, which you can learn about if you ask yourslef which famous person or character it most reminds you of.

For example

the Z4M might make you think of Mike Tyson - small, massive power, not very refined - a bit of an animal - I don't know

The Z4 might make you think of Jessica Alba (Dark Angel) a more refined, understated action hero - loads of power, less obvious, very attractive

What do you think? Is the M a very different animal to the non-M, Isthe Coupe very different (personality) to the Roadster?

What person/character would a 911, Caymen, TT, 350Z, S2000 or American sports car that competes with the Z4, be?

I would have to say (I know it sounds cliche) James Bond.
Smooth and classy but can be tough when it needs to be. Just plain cool 8)

Completely agreed! And the Z4M's exhaust note sounds a bit high-pitched and girly too. :D

My Z4M doesn't have a name. But my GF calls it a dick car because she thinks it looks like a dick. :headbang:

I couldn't think of anything so I asked my husband. He said it would be Al Pacino because it's short, has a big nose, and is always wearing black.
