I thought I was done but...

Yes, I appreciate that IMS RMS BS can all be rectified on the 987.1 but feels a better package overall with the 987.2
If your budget allows go for a 987.2, it's a no brainer.

The 987.2 also got a power bump. Which made it easier for me to get a base model 987.2 vs a S 987.1.

But each to their own.

Dare say it but I reckon most IMS would have been sorted by any looked after car.

I have to say I am finding my eyes turning back to either a 2 litre turbo 18i 20i 28i or a 35i - for the money they are just cracking value
Just need to find good buyers guides now

Well having just done over 1,000 miles with two re-mapped N20s I can testify that for UK A/B roads a N20 can hold its head no issue… :driving:

Just need to find one in Yellow

More challenging as I think there was only one year of yellow N20 production…my old one soldiers on..it’ has a great life whisking a pretty 21 year old blonde girl around..

Yeah I think I need to focus on condition over colour lol

I am flip flopping between a 2 litre and the 3 litre ... obviously more choice at the 2 litre option/price point but the lure of a remapped 3 litre pushing out 360bhp is strong lol

For the N20 the main issue is the chain guide rail or something I think?

ip run or fun on a sunny day at 40mph on the moors though. Maybe as a third car it works. :)
I bought a Mk2 RCZ GT as a winter project a couple of years ago and ran it for a year, equipment level was brilliant compared to the Z4. Built by Magna Steyr, cleaned it up, fixed some issues and also added a 9" touch screen/reverse camera to it, really liked it.20231002_183756.jpg

What pointless tech on the Z4 is this Peugeot missing?

I've never seen one of those before... I'm not sure whether I think it's ugly because it looks a bit like an Audi TT, or whether it actually shows that the Audi TT design was only a few tweaks away from being really nice.

I test drove an RCZ R before buying my last Z4, not sure the equipment list was really that great, just felt like a pretty normal French car inside nothing out of this world in terms of equipment?

Surely its the other way round, what pointless tech on the Peugeot is the Z4 missing? All the stuff that BMW expect you pay extra (compared with the same age BMW) for seemed to be standard with this car e.g. electric/heated seats, bluetooth with streaming, keyless entry, pdc, 19" alloys etc. Guess you didn't like the TT either

Just being silly but serious... cars have too much tech and have done for years.

I can see the point of electric heated seats... but I can't recall the last time I would have benefitted from having them. I don't want or need bluetooth. I don't want or need keyless entry, PDC I suppose is handy, but I can honestly say it is not a feature I have ever desired, nor do I need.

I think the Audi TT is an OK looking car but nothing special... that Peugeot looks a lot nicer IMHO.

Some of those are really highly desirable and have very practical uses though.

My mate and i both had E85s and mine had heated seats his didn't and I can tell you for sure when we were out driving with roof down he was sitting there shivering and I was much warmer. Bluetooth I do like to play my favourite songs via my phone and the Aux plug in socket isn't the best quality so bluetooth was super handy for streaming my music. Where I live in London with very limited on street parking, the reverse parking sensors are a god send, yes I can park without them, but with these I know I can safely reverse much more closely to a car in a spot that anyone can without them.

So yes, if you like analogue radio, or have a great CD collection, and have a nice big driveway to park on, and only drive the car with roof down in balmy sunny days then yes you could argue they aren't needed. But its worth remembering your specific circumstance is not going to be at al reflective of everyone elses.

I always tried to keep my E89 tucked away in the garage over the winter months, so, I would always look for something to run around in, a bargain that had some potential with a bit of work and then sell on in the spring, the RCZ came along, 2 owners, fsh, clean bodywork, nippy with the same engine as the Cooper S and FWD (great for the winter).

I was lucky the E89 had heated seats, pdc and idrive etc. and I thought I was spoiled, then I got the G29, wow its loaded with toys... heated steering wheel :D I thought reverse parking sensors were great, this thing drives itself out the garage in reverse (remembers the route it went forward), brilliant for my tricky garage.
