I fitted my Parrot MKI9200 today, or at least mostly fitted it anyway - I'll finish it off tomorrow all being well.
Thanks for the great write-up Hotride. My install was
similar to yours, but not quite the same. It seems I don't need the ignition switch box along with the other harness as you mentioned you did. I initially plugged it in (slightly different design to yours as well - instead of bullet connectors that join the box 'in-line', it now comes with a separate 24-pin extension lead that you plug in to the 24-pin connection on the main harness), and it didn't power up the Parrot at all. When I then removed it, it powered up fine, and powered down when I switched the ignition off. So I'll see if I can get a refund on that as I no longer have a use for it!
I also had issues with the Aux connection. I ordered the same lead as in your write-up, but the design only allows it to be plugged into the back of the head unit in the socket that handles the CD changer connections (which I guess works fine on yours, as you have the CD-changer?). In my case, this does nothing in the way of enabling Aux on the head unit. So a bit of fiddling and modifying of the cable later, and I now have it plugged into the other socket on the head unit, where it now enables the Aux (by means of adding the resistor and capacitors mentioned in the DIY Aux thread).
A bit more effort than I thought it would be, but I got there eventually. I just have the screen to mount properly now (rather than having it dangling from out of the panel beneath the head unit!) and then I'll think about fitting the iPod/USB/3.5mm cables a bit more neatly. I want to have the USB as a fitted socket in the glove box, the iPod cable connected to some sort of dock/holder (probably using the
Scosche passPORT home dock adapter as a basis), and the 3.5mm jack routed to wherever I have my Pure Highway DAB unit (I'm thinking in the centre storage box at the moment).
Thanks again to you and everyone who has contributed to various bit of info I read and used today, including the Aux cable work and getting the centre vents out - I really felt like I knew how to get them out after I'd read up on it, and it only took me a couple of minutes in the end!
Cheers,
Andy
