I am truly shocked and disappointed.

blimey, calm down - put the rope down - there might be a good reason , dont know do we.. :o although a pm might have been better i grant you

There is no good reason if the buyer hasn’t contacted the seller before putting in a dispute with PayPal.
Don't get me wrong here, I agree it's bad form, I was just reacting to the lynch mob seemingly forming

And with good reason, PayPal / ebay say you need to contact the seller before raising a case.

Hi Jamie,

Just to be clear, the buyer did message asking where the covers where to which I replied saying they weren’t included in the sale but I would look to see if I had them. But I can’t find them.

I then told the buyer and said they were never included in the original sale.

I expected that to be the end of it until PayPal got in touch.

I’m more-than happy to refund if he returns the vents but he has never asked to do so and is now claiming back over 90% of the sale value.

Essentially he wants £20 back when they only cost his £25 posted and the postage was about £5 and my PayPal fee around £1.50

I know mate, I was meaning no discussion was raised regarding any dispute over the purchase. Hope you get sorted

This member put up a thread in the marketplace a few days ago asking for the blanks, so it's fairly obvious who it is :fuelfire: I won't name them, but you can do your own detective work to figure it out.

This is why I always ask for anything not being collected to be paid via PayPal gift or bank transfer. I know I'm honest, but you never know who a stranger on the internet really is, unfortunately.

In response to a comment suggesting asking for money to be sent through PayPal is dodgy, that's ridiculous. Its just an easy way of sending money. I'm happy with bank transfer or cash on collection, but not everyone is, hence the 3rd option

if its any compensation paypal are pretty fair, i have on occasion rung them up to sort out something or other, i remember selling my car to a fella that was just having a laugh, god knows why, but you win a bid and even though its obvious nobody is paying you cant just clear it, anyway...for piece of mind - call them and explain the situation .

I was on the wrong side of Ebay/Paypal years ago after selling used bike parts.
They were exactly as described in the advert but after receiving them they asked for a refund.
It didn't matter what I said, Ebay/Paypal stuck with the buyer and issued a refund before they returned the parts.
I never received the parts back either.

There's an irony that said buyer seems to consistently attempt to sell sub-par (damaged) items at top-end prices and when he gets a good deal then feels the need to complain.

Hopefully all will be resolved, or at least paypal will see sense.

Oh dear, I didn’t realise lol

This does act as a reminder to all A’s to why clear transactions via the forum are key.

I can see nothing regarding this, only the centre vent for bing. I assume you still have your pm’s though, so would be forwarding those onto PayPal.

I don’t think I do :( having a 100 message limit I just have sent/received over 300 in the last month so hard to keep deleting my inbox.

Wait. I didn’t get any blanking plates that weren’t in the picture either :?

I am in no doubt that the OP sold the breaking parts with the best intentions; it appears that he was as open and honest as he could be given the feeding frenzy. He's given his side of the story so now either z4all needs to respond with his side or drop the dispute. I have no control over the PayPal situation, but I do have control over membership of the forum.
