How to remove headlight bulb?

Hi,

Just been out to try and replace the headlight bulbs. Got the arch panel off and the plastic seal but I'm insure how to remove the bulb?

See picture below.

Any advice? Does it twist or just pull out? It's hard to see really.

i thought they just pulled out

Both. Twist off to the left to take the bulb out of the light casing, then pull the black plug off the bulb terminals.

When you say twist to the left, do you mean anti clockwise?

And does the black thing with wires then just pull off

I've always taken the connector plug off the lamp BEFORE removing the lamp from the housing.

The book says "Turn the bulb holder to the Left and pull out" (H7 Lamps)

Yes, Anti Clock. It may be easier to pull the black plug off first though.

Or pay a fiver for a Halfords Monkey to replace it???

You do know that you must not touch the glass envelope dont you?

Yes I knew that (I wear gloves anyway).
