Hmm - my 8-tracks were long gone by the time that tune came out.

BIG time - so does a lot of that part of what used to route 66. I grew up in AZ and am old enough to recall that being the active highway. I don't have fond memories of driving long periods of time between pieces of vegetation. That road got lots worse once you were headed west beyond Flagstaff too.
This is one of the big reasons I live in the Pacific NW now......

The dry AZ/NM climate is great for peeps like me that had no allergies growing up on Chicago's soutside. Now here in KC, I have some that haven't been named yet.

I was raised on the Soutside (Sox fan) but lived on the Nortside (Cubs fan) as an adult. The Royals (unless you were referring to the Windsors) don't even get into the equation.
