How do you close your boot?

Hi all,

A question as per the title.

Every car I have had I can pull the boot down using the inserts inside the boot lid and it will shut, this means no finger prints on the car.

I'm finding with the Z it's impossible to close it using the little handles in te boot lid so end up covering the too of the boot in finger prints, dust smudge etc.

How do you close yours to minimise this?

haaaaaa.... ya know ive never noticed their is a handle on the inside..... i usually gently close it from the outside then attempt to wipe off my hand prints... lol

I never touch the paintwork to close the boot. I have to pull insert inside the boot down very hard and fast to shut it.

I have tried this and it stops just above the catch so I have to give it a light push down.

In the coupe I suspect using inside handle is fine, longer boot bigger swing etc, with the little hatch for the roadster I still can't do it from inside. Just went out to try

I use the handle mainly. Sometimes gently use the corner of the boot lid.

I'm always careful not to slam the boot. Too easy to break the 3rd brake light

A quick jerk with the handle and it closes beautifully. Never touched the boot on the outside ...

I use a cashmere glove - which is hand washed every other day in stergene. I thought everyone used this method. :)

Don't open the boot between washes, and if I do polish it off straight away with the cloth I keep inside the car,,,,,,does the sound a little OCD ish
