How do you close your boot?

I close mine carefully from outside, use my sleeve to push it down or do the OCD micro fibre cloth until the car is dirty. Then I wash it before opening the boot again :D Scared I will crack the brake light

I keep my hair purposefully long so that I can swoosh it forward and cautiously headbutt it closed. The wax in my hair also helps to buff out any marks.

Inside handle to close most of the way, then push down on the top. My car is usually relatively clean so I don't get finger marks on the top.

Had someone get something from the boot while I was inside and they left fingermarks on the leading edge :( It's not a hatchback! Even without using the interior handle, pushing down from the top is easy - but there ya go, dirty finger marks for a week due to rainy weather. I'm not bitter! :?

This is beginning to sound like a forum for OCD sufferers. It is just a car! You will enjoy it more if you just dial down your obsessive behaviour.

The soft close on the e89 is a nice feature, I sometimes use the recess handle to close and other times the top of the boot lid, in other words I don't really care :D

Couldn't agree more.

Ashamed to say I didn't know there was an internal handle until I read this :-(

Used it for the first time this morning. :-)

Handle and quick pull as above but I find if its not got enough momentum then it wont close and I have to try again. My brother says "so you have to slam it then?" :x

If the GF is closing it then as hard as possible, i've given up on saying "don't slam the boot"

So true, my wife slams the boot so hard it's been to known to make my ears pop if I'm sat in the car. :headbang:

1) Place hand on top of open boot.
2) Press down.

Fingerprints on the car ... :| ... you're kidding, right?

I'm surprised at the number of people that didn't know there was a handle.

Tried again today, I swear the boot struts on mine must be stiff, won't close with one smooth pull
