Z4 soft close boot?

When your boot lid is open and you close it and it has that automatic soft close lock, how hard are you supposed to shut down the lid so it locks the rest of the way down automatically but I don't want to push it down too hard cuz I don't want to break anything so how hard are you supposed to close down the lid before the soft lock takes over?

Just drop it from 6 inches, don't push it down.

Noooo dont close hard at all. I let go from about 2 inches and let the car suck the boot down.
