Nice one mate, did you get any specifications yet?
It's on a might do list as currently have ep3, but still haven't seen definitive specs. Adaptive dampers etc would be nice.

It is what it is, I like them because they're excellent for some technical aspects such as vtec and snickety gear boxes as well as being bulletproof. But they do have some opinion splitting aspects aswell as attracting the wrong crowd.

I hope they're still going to do NIghthawk black, and hopefully there will be a mclaren edition too, will be watching closely

No specs yet mostly guess work, today I reserved my production slot. Official launch isn't until the Geneva motorshow, so I'll be off to the dealers again after that to sort out my options. Black cars are OK but on cars with aero packs like this the details get lost, similar to the aero skirts on a black Z4. Mine wont be black or blue, its red or championship white for me.

Sorry I don't get it... It might be fast it might be cutting edge. But it looks like a trainer and I would rather where a shoe.
Monkey, with that front bumper and rear spoiler you are clearly a trainer guy!

You would think wouldn't you!! But if that's the state of trainers to come... I want flip flops!! I just don't get the fast fwd car?!? I have driven them even wanted them!! They just don't work for me after actually driving them... Have you driven one of these?

They're not out to be test driven yet but I've driven the last few generations of type R and the latest civic sport and found them all fantastic. I've always wanted one and now is my chance, with Honda killing it in BTCC, coming back to F1 and releasing the new NSX soon, I think now more than ever is the time to get into a Honda.
I'm done with 2 seaters, convertibles and BMW's, not really enjoyed owning or driving the Z4 if I'm honest, maybe its because I'm from the playstation generation. I'm not ready to go full grown up saloon yet although I did drive the new Mondeo and found it a perfectly acceptable drive, just didn't get out of it feeling like I wanted one and its basically a German car now too.

Its in a similar price bracket to its competition in the Golf R, Focus RS etc all around £30-£35K depending on options

love me a hot hatch....

i purchased a warm hatch today, a 64 plate St fiesta with all the bits, really looking forward to getting it, going to mod the hell out of it!!

Meh, might be out of budget then. Would rather spend c.£10-14k second hand and own the car outright. £35k is probably gonna be £400-£450 a month on pcp isn't it?

Honda won it for me by having enough danglies to release the car with that spoiler on it!

They had to raise the rear spoiler as the usual one cut right across the rearview mirror vision
Certainly looks like it means business on the road , my only recent experience of the Honda Civic was a rental for a week which had a fishtank type dashboard/speedo set up & wandered like crazy on the motorway if there was the slightest side wind , apparently due to the lightness of the front end i was told :?
' Hope it works for you , doubt you'l have any problems with it

No idea, I don't do dealer financing on cars. I can sort my own money out at a much better rate from my mate Dave down the pub

Interesting from Honda micro site::

To be a true Type R the drive and handling must deliver. The good news is that the engineering innovations and enhancements will make the new Type R the most advanced and dynamic so far. A press of the '+R' button activates '+R' mode which heightens engine responsiveness, upgrades torque-mapping to a more aggressive and performance focused setting, increases steering responsiveness and adds firmness & agility to the new four point Adaptive Damper System (adjusts front & rear damping force and stiffness in a split second). Additional 'steer axis' mechanical system minimises torque steer and improves front end traction. When combined, this delivers the ultimate handling experience.

Don't listen to some of the old farts! Well done OP looks awesome! Different and will always grab attention :driving: :driving:

Don't worry, I wont. They probably still have a blackberry "because the iPhone doesn't have a keypad"

I sort of know what you mean here. Even though this particular Civic style isn't to my taste [also PlayStation generation], kudos for talking a leap into the semi-unknown and gambling on something that looks like it could be a lot of fun. Paint, wings, stickers etc are all very personal preferences, so of course you're going to get a mixed reaction on a Z4 Forum.

I think your point about Honda being in an exciting area of development right now could be extended out to a few manufacturers, and who knows - maybe that full grown up saloon will be your next purchase once it's featured as the key art for the next GranTurismo game!

:driving:

Enjoy the speccing and look forward to reading more about it.

Saw that Ad last night, it was the final push, game set and match to Honda on that play  Apparently I'm not the only one too, dealer mentioned there had been a few in today saying the same thing
