I love it op

Got a quad exhaust what more is there?

Think honda have finally embraced forced induction too... So be good to finally see the specs when its annouced.

I had a honda s2k before my Z. Not as refined but way more fun to drive... Def not a daily drive.... But a brutal weekend toy.

Always wanted a type r though... The closest i got was a type s which is a real tyre r wannabe when i was 19

Given Honda's success with forced induction on the race track, I reckon their road cars will be pretty impressive

Looks great, but I'm with the Monkey about shoes vs trainers. Although I would add that I prefer not to run in shoes! I'm glad Honda have created it and I look forward to being surprised how quick it is on the road, but it's a bit too flash for me (and I'm also of the Playstation generation).

I mostly agree, except I've recently sold my 320d and bought an S2000 as a daily driver. I've found it to be perfect for the task

love me a hot hatch....

i purchased a warm hatch today, a 64 plate St fiesta with all the bits, really looking forward to getting it, going to mod the hell out of it!!

It's not quite a Porsche but I bet it'll be huge fun on tight country lanes and 90% as capable until you're really really pushing it

Not a fan of that particular colour/decal scheme but love the car OP

I also like the fact that Honda value reliability, they have built X million Vtec variable valve timing units and have reputedly never had a failure, it may be a slight exaggeration but I doubt anybody would try to make that claim about VANOS!

BTW I'm an old fert and have never used Playstation :oldman:

Whoah, achingly beautiful,... But almost could be any other supercar, anyone noticed that they are almost all the same nowadays? I guess its because they have found the ultimate shape for a supercar , so are now jeft left with tweaking around the edges. That could be badged as one of a dozen cars and you would never know really. The buggati veyron is the exception , that is reLly out on its own, not a criticism btw, just like to see some new shapes. I like the revisited shape thing abfew years back , modern versions of classics such as the mustang camaro and gt40. Cant wait for them to do a 72 corvette with c7 mechanics. :driving:

definiely no porsche but after all that i decided to sink a small amount into a hot hatch and just have some fun, ill stage 2 it around 230hp is EASILY achievable , no crazy exhausts , and just enjoy beating it and owning it, ill keep it till it dies and use it as th driveway beater to replace my 1.0 micra that has just gone to car heaven, i used a good chunk of my Gt4/sypder fund for this. lol.... Still don't think the gt4 was enough to make the jump and start taking finance again, the new spyder is coming out and looks great but again its way to watered down, its not even getting the 3.8 from the GT4 which is a real shame. At this point i have my z4m which isn't loosing money at all, my company car cayenne , and the ST. That'll do, I'm covering all bases     230hp in the ST will be a riot i don't want a track master i want a total road warrior with ALL the comforts.

from the article:
It rides on 19-inch glossy black alloy wheels with red accents matching the brake calipers which on the front axle work with Brembo 350mm drilled discs. Underneath the hood is a four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at more than 280 HP (206 kW) which will be enough for a top speed of 167 mph (270 km/h).

Thanks! Hadn't seen that yet. Looks great, it is a shame the rear lights aren't horn shaped like the concept. I'm sure I will be looking into a modification to achieve that! Perhaps have to import that bit from Japan if they release it with those over there.
Can't wait to get my cheeks in that seat!

+1, absolutely gutted that the integrated lights didn't make it, also it's lost the winglets off the front spoiler and the rear arch flares and vent.

Hoping that the possible hotter version may fix that, but would be interested to see if any tuners replicate the concept...

7:50 round the ring though

I'm tempted by championship white, but my sensible head says buy black because its easier to match paint when I inevitably fall off the nurburgring trying to match the claimed 7:50 lap time

not sure if anyone's seen/posted the article but I was reading that the CTR will beat the m3 CSL, Ferrari 430, gallardo, the new m5, the ford GT around the ring. not sure if that was long or short, but does it matter?

http://www.carthrottle.com/post/10-rwd-supercars-that-are-slower-around-the-nurburgring-than-the-new-civic-type-r/

stacking up to be a tremendously impressive package either way.

Massive anticipation for the Civic Type R out there. Looks very good IMO! 168mph too so the go to back up the show.
Really pleased they have given it some power at last :driving: I had a little traffic light run with one of the old models and I stayed in front of it all the way in my boring saloon 330i and I was surprised and I thought it would have blitzed me easily.

Looking forward to reading some hot hatch road tests with the new one in it

Congrats OP :)

Colours... interesting render in the old gold/green (I think the 90's preludes had this)

this is a weapon.....

the current crop of super hatches are making mincemeat of some serious cars now-days, i watched a mk2 RS focus clearly tuned up absolutely moving the hell out on the raceway that is queslett Rd in b'ham, this thing was so fast it was incredible to watch a hatch moving so quickly, this Type R will be another monster and when the tuners get hold of it it'll be quite frankly insane.

The CPL guys do super/turbo charging for the various type r's vtec engines. I think their dev EP3 car does a sub 10 second 1/4 miler which is insane for a front driver. Will be interesting what sort of power they can get out of the new turbo engine. :driving:
