450+ hp with a 3.5L VAC Stroker Kit. Of course that's a race engine now but from what i read you can get a streetable 390-400hp out of an S54. Money permitting i would go that route...

Have heard of people getting near to and over the 400 mark with relatively straight forwards tuning, intakes, cams, exhausts, maping and the like so don't doubt that's doable (and would be awesome in it's own right!) would be great to hear some first hand feedback!
That stroker sounds immense!! like you say though anything over the 400 mark and it's seeming like it looses is day to day drivability, lumpy idles and overbearing drone.. I'd love to end up with something that dances with ferraris and lambos but still retains some of the charm of the M..
In other news, have just got an email back from Slek as I'm toying with purchasing something a little like this:
and dusting it in a light silver grey paint (a la f40 so you can still see the weave)
They are currently producing moulds for the rear roadster quarter panels so everything will be there except for the ''trunk''.
The main fly in the pint is that I'll get stung for gst when it hits the port - so will see what can be done price wise at their end.
Not sure how much weight it actually saves but I've got an unhealthy obsession with carbon fibre, love the texture.
