Could be a good buy for someone - worth enquiring if it includes the 3 internal covers and a stand though.

He was bidding on someone else's. Which I was bidding on. I won the auction. Found the roof scratched. Seller was local to him. Wouldn't be reasonable on modifying the price then a day or so later this guy is selling. So I think shill bidding then two people selling the same roof...

yeh i just read the old thread on this, thanks, for the info, nice to see we can help each other out, looks like my search continues.

Wasn't this selling for over £1k originally? Can't shill bid on a Buy it Now... Admittedly I wouldn't be going in for it purely for the fact that it was highlighted earlier... Still, £695 could be the seller admitting defeat. All speculation though.

The side panels etc are missing.... Thing is you have to PayPal first so is it worth the gamble after travelling? When I looked there were scratches on it too.....

I thought it had sold twice before but relisted straight away by the same seller. There’s definitely something dodgy going on :?

just to keep you all posted, i made an offer of £650 yesterday before i found all this out, he has replied saying he will accept the offer, i emailed back saying a member of A forum thought it was a scam and that it was scratched, he answered taking great offense to this as its not a scam he says and he asked which forum so he can set the record straight but i didnt tell him which, i am still talking to this guy but im still worried about the scratches and how bad they are, thanks again everyone.

I would go and see it if I were you, £650 is a decent price and scratches can be repaired. Theres no ACTUAL evidence of any scamming going on, plenty of hearsay and jumping on the band wagon. It's a Buy it Now and he's accepted less than advertised which doesn't correlate with somebody trying to deviously up the price through 'shill bidding'. I'm not dismissing anything anybody has said here previously, I'd just rather have first hand knowledge than pure speculation. I could be wrong, I've been wrong before, but if I could afford it I'd follow my own intuition and see for myself.

Ebay and paypal have a certain amount of protection against foul play.

So does payment in cash, on collection. If it doesn't do it for you... walk away.

That too, which I should have added as that's the best way to go about it.

Damaged hardtop. Could be a steal? I'm happy to view if anyone wants? It's not too far from my usual route home.
