H&R springs

Need to order a set of springs due to the front driver coil snapping on me on Friday. Lots of thumbs up for Eibachs but not so much for H&R. I see a lot of posts saying the H&R are too low and harsh even though both Eibachs and H&R state 30mm all round so shouldn't be a difference in ride drop.

I'm ok with a harder ride coming from stiff coil overs on my VX220 I owned.

For now I'll be fitting over stock shocks, so the question is. Are there any filk in here with H&R on stock shocks that can jump in and give me a real world review and maybe some pics. I've seen some posts about neg rake which I'm not a fan of tbh, does this happen on the ZR?

H&R springs at europarts with discount code are under £150 so a great price.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply Simo, I've a 2.5 roadster on standard suspension ( not M sport ) and looking at the details the H&R springs for mine are 35mm all round drop. Reading some posts on Zpost it looks like I wouldn't need the rear 15mm pads to level out the rake which is good.

At the end of the year I'll prob go some form of coil overs but for now and the fact I have a car I can't drive a quick fix with springs is fine.

The H&R springs are definitely lower than eibachs. I have eibachs and Johnny Essex had H&R's on his zed before he got colliers and his sat noticeably lower than mine.

Personally, I prefer eibachs as I have to negotiate very large speedhumps in my town and also on my work estate, but the H&R's look better.

Just stuck H&Rs on my M.

25mm drop (yours will be more) and if anything they have smoothed out the ride. Picked mine up off of ECP, no regrets

Thanks chaps. ordering now  I work from home and when I drive out for a shoot ( I'm a wedding filmed ) I rarely have to put up with major bad roads. looking forward to getting the car on H&R now.

Already ordered, looked at European supplier but only found 4-5 day delivery and would only save £20 or so. I ended up with £147.60 and delivery for Tuesday. As the car is unusable right now, getting them as early as possible was important. Now to pay for a low loader to come get the car as I don't have the time or tools to do the springs myself so booking in with a mates garage to fit them.

ive been looking into the springs LOADS over the last few weeks if you check back through my old posts and my findings are....

Eibach dont do a lowering kit for the 2.0 (they used to but it got discontinued for some reason) they do a kit for the 6 cylinder engines tho which is different to our 2.0 cars.

H&R do 1 kit to fit all 2.0-3.0 variants (both 4 and 6 cylinder engines, the Z4M has a complete different kit) that takes a few weeks to settle depending on the cars weight (i spoke with H&R directly about this and have the email as proof!!) code is: H&R 29269-1

Suplex do 2 different versions of springs for the 2.0 engine (06227 standard and 06229 M sport for the rears, cant remember fronts off top of my head)

basically go for the suplex equivalent if you want to replace OEM as they are the same ride height (-0mm standard or -15mm M sport), just slight better quality and cheaper than OEM

or go with H&R (-35mm) kit stated above (there are probably many kits in between but i have no knowledge of them)

hope that helps

springs arrived today ( day early ) and car picked up on low loader. picking up tomorrow lunch :) fairly painless.

look forward to pics! also they state that they take a little while to "settle" so keep us updated as i dont know if they literally mean a few days/hundred miles or if they mean a couple of months/1000s miles

That's very helpful. I think I'll pull the trigger on the H&R springs.
Cheers!
