H&R springs

picked the car up this afternoon having the springs fitted and new drop links ( one buggered from the spring snapping )

It sits really well, yeah its low but if your used to having low cars in the past this won't be a big deal, its certainly not on its ass but looks 10 times better now. Drives way smoother than stock, not crash at all and gives a very good smooth ride. I'll be getting an alignment done in about 100 miles so the springs have time to settle a bit but the rear camber is way more than stock, looks nice but not good on rubber no doubt.

Drives straight and true, feels tight and taken easy over speed bumps I've had no issue as yet.

I'll pop picks up at some point tomorrow when its light enough.

spacers will make it look even better! and no doubt give the illusion of it being lower too. Very pleased overall

Buy yellow adjustable koni dampers aswell. Then you have a perfect set up to the H&R Springs. Very comfy and handle great. I had Eibach with oem dampers and KW V3 coilovers in the past. This is by far the best setup I have experienced on the E85/86 :)

Definitely going down the Koni route, this was a quick fix for me but no doubt the dancer will die this year I reckon, then upgrade time

shitty iPhone shot but you get the gist....

yeah... lost the front tow eye :( need to order

that looks good! and not tooooooo low as i was panicking over in my head as ill need to be able to maneuver speed bumps still lol, will no doubt settle in a little lower which will then be perfect!

oh and the tow eye..... not sure how much they are new but might be worth messaging breakers on ebay with cars same colour, if the cars been hit on the front the bumper will be useless so the tow eye cover will prob be a few quid

I took it to get an alignment as it looked like the rear camber was way more than usual. Search came up with a local place where it seems a lot of dealers use and also the MX5 club and seen good reviews. Looks like they've been doing alignment for many many years. Gave them a call, Between £60-80 depending on the work needed so took it down as there was a slot.

Numbers were well out! so glad I took it down even before it settles.... but... even with max adjustment on the rears it still can't be fully within tolerance. not far off but not in the numbers it should be ( I'll post the print out later ) Fronts got done fine and the rears now match, albeit a tad out.

He said as the springs need to settle a bit, to bring back in a month and he'll look at it again for free just to check if there's anymore he can do.

Anyone else find this once the car has been dropped on H&R?

You won't get the cambers anyway near the tolerance levels listed on the database with lowering springs on.

This is mine. Place who done it said it would be fine but that was the closest they could get. Drives fine, just get a bit more tyre wear I guess.

Since they have choosen a Z4M spec to the alignment. I will think it's hard to get the camber into tolerance;)
Mine is is spot on with H&R springs...

I noticed that on his, mine was standard z4 and even at max adjustment i'm a little out. strange. I guess not all cars are identical though

Already ordered, looked at European supplier but only found 4-5 day delivery and would only save £20 or so. I ended up with £147.60 and delivery for Tuesday. As the car is unusable right now, getting them as early as possible was important. Now to pay for a low loader to come get the car as I don't have the time or tools to do the springs myself so booking in with a mates garage to fit them.

hi mate looking to order some H&R springs also, could you post a link to where u got them from for £147.60 delivered?

thanks

Iv just purchased today some KW coilovers, so will
