Thought i would add myself to get us to 30! This sounds like the perfect mod to me! :D

Was very surprised when this hit 20 and PVR and I were the only ROs... accepting the fact that Gookah was starting again. Even now there are only 6 of us adding the RO, I'd have thought this was a must have upgrade.

what's the RO?

Remote only - it's the key fob add on for those of us that bought the one touch module the first time round. I was expecting to see almost all one touch module owners at the top of the list for the remote unit.

Hi guys.
I'm looking into the double click and the alarm issue now, I don't think my Z4 has it.
Does anyone know if there's any feedback that lets yo know when you've disabled the tilt?
Also, is there a time window in which you have to have pressed the second click for it to count?

Hi gapTech

Thanks for replying.
From the 05 manual.

"To deactivate the tilt alarm and interior motion sensors
Press the button on the remote control a second time immediately after locking.
The indicator lamp lights up briefly and then flashes continuously. The tilt alarm sensor and the interior motion sensor are deactivated until the vehicle is again unlocked and locked."

An interesting point.
I'm one of those people who tend to err on the side of caution. I will be ordering the RO subject to someone fitting one without issues. I'm a little concerned about the amount of room where the unit goes as it was quite tight when fitting the OT module.
I would say this is no reflection on the quality of the unit it's just me and maybe there are others with the same cautious mentality.

That other unit was rather small though?

Re the alarm - GapTech, your car will have the same as all other UK cars as all UK cars had the alarm.

It is actually fine (the Reinhold and eOpen) work the same way with the 3 clicks. It is indeed in the time element, you have to click the second time immediately to unset the alarm sensor.

I have nominated Gookah for that as last time, he had fitted the unit when the stamp had not even dried yet ... 8)

Thats great news.....hopefully gapTech can actually carry out some tests prior to shipping just to be sure.

Hi gapTech

Another question for you.
When closing roof remotely, what "state" does it leave the alarm in.
A double press of the lock button on the remote disables the cars tilt alarm and interior motion sensor.
Or does the 3rd press of the button fully alarm the car again?

Thanks Again

Right, thanks to jimbo1958 for pointing this out, I've done a bit of investigation and it could have been a problem.
My car does have this feature and I can confirm that a second press of the lock button within 10 seconds of the first does disable the interior movement and tilt sensor, this is signaled by the alarm LED lighting for a brief period.
This does mean that every time the roof is raised remotely these alarm features will have been disabled, this must also be happening with all other remote modules available as it's a feature of the body electronics and cannot be avoided. :o

The solution;
Well I could modify the code so the second and third presses have to occur ten seconds after the first press but what's the point in doing that, you may as well put the key into the lock and hold it to raise thee roof.
So I suggest the sequence of key presses to raise the roof should be two presses of the unlock followed by 1 press of the lock button each 1 second apart. Obviously I'll have to change the code but I think it's a good solution.
All other suggestions are welcome.

Glad to of raised the issue and appreciate your honesty. While we're all keen to have this module I'm sure none of us want to compromise the security of our vehicles.
Maybe it's not an issue for others as there wasn't much concern when I raised the point initially.
Lets see what others have to say on it and thanks again for the quick response.
