For me it's YES - my teenage influence and lifelong favourites - as a musician they just constantly amaze me ( except for that 80's madness with the Trevor Horn mad man)
Same here. Still play them in the car when I'm on a long drive...

Loved the Roger Dean artwork on the Albums......still have some mint vinyl in the loft including "Tales From Topographic Oceans", Double Album with one Track per side as you would know. :)

Oh it's so difficult to choose just one, and a few of mine have been mentioned earlier, so....

Radiohead.....

Enjoy

Couldn't possibly call it :) but our tiny Island alone has produced some great bands over the decades, Floyd, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Dire Straits, U2, Stones, Queen, Free....the list goes on & on.

The best?? how do you pick the best from that little list :idunno:

You can't but it's fun discussing it :)

I was watching The Voice last night and afterwards looked to see what I had recorded 'cos there was nowt else on I fancied. I found a little BBC thing from a week or so ago, "Acoustic at the BBC" It featured singers and bands from the 60s through to the mid 2000s. Watching it straight after The Voice it became apparent just how poor the modern "talent" is, especially the screeching, annoying girl singers. Watching the likes of Joni Mitchell & Joan Armatrading straight afterwards was pure class in comparison.

God I have so many fave's, but the one I seem to play most is Def Lepard's THE VAULT, with AC/DC coming a close second.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience, the guy was way ahead of the time and still is.

Tim.

With the best Bassist on the planet, the best guitarist on the planet and the best drummer on the planet it has to be Rush.

I was fortunate to see Jimi live -twice. Kenny Wayne Shepherd does some pretty good Hendrix covers, as did SRV.

I am a Radiohead devotee but have to say the Placebo and MUSE are great live. Maybe its because Radiohead have;t toured for a while and I've forgotten..

my heart would say 'Nirvana'

But my head would say 'U2'. Not a huge fan of theirs, but surely has to be U2 for their longevity and popularity

But the Rolling Stones have been around since the early 1960s and can still sell out any venue. :poke: :poke:

sure, but have they released the same quantity of 'new' material and chart positioning? :poke:
