Glad to find a Z4 specific forum

Hi and welcome.

Whilst you may think that your Zed looks like any other Zed, we are connoisseurs and have to have the opportunity to inspect every Forum members' car, so a couple of pics would be much appreciated.

I'm not a huge bike fan, but yours does look great!

Enjoy :driving:

Welcome aboard. Worked with US marines in afghan great bunch. Did some strike ops from the back of an osprey was pretty epic few days

Hi there and welcome!
There seem to be lots of Zed owners who are also bike riders.

I am sure you will find a host of info here along with lots of banter! Look forward to seeing some pics of the Zed!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Semper Fi, Jarhead! Rory, glad you made it out of the sandbox. Several friends of mine did not. EnZed, I spent some time down in Melbourne a while back and wanted very much to travel to your little island, but was unable. NZ is quite beautiful, from what I have seen, though I could see myself living in Cairns (if the Aussies didn't have such messed up gun laws).

You all have some phenomenally beautiful machines! Why it ever took me this long to get one...

Odd question for the collective:

I realize that the majority of folk here are British, is there truly such a following of German autos in the Kingdom? My ignorance would lead me to believe that the Alpha would have been a more "home spun" favorite.

People appreciate quality, wherever they live
Note: said quality does not include soft top motor in Z4. Designer of this abomination will be first against the wall when I rule the world.. :headbang:

I can't speak for others as I'm not a BMW fan. I just love the Z4MR for the way it looks 8) , the angelic scream at eight thousand RPM and the smile it has put on my face since the first time a buried the throttle and lit up the rear tyres. : :D :driving:

Alphas  .unreliable rust buckets with Italian Character.

Thanks, buzyg. As I have no working knowledge of the Alpha, I could not attest to its maintenance record, just that some folks tend to get passionate about their home grown mechanisms. I am a pure Harley man, so I understand this mentality. As for autos, I tend to German/Swedish (got an S80 & S60). Trucks are always USA.

Zed, I have been reading quite a bit about the drainage issue with the rag tops and I intend on doing more preventative maintenance this weekend, as in checking the drain plug. There is a thread about relocating the motor to the trunk, have you found that to be a good preventive measure?

Mine lives in the garage and only comes out to play when the sun is shining. I know it's hard to believe, but the sun does shine in Cornwall now and then. :D

Welcome from a Dutchman living in the UK. 10 years of Z ownership and even though moved on from that, still enlighten everybody with my vast knowledge (and modesty :) )
