It's definitely a different world in London, it doesn't mean it's a bad thing, or a good thing! There's much less a sense of community in the majority of areas i've lived thus far - i think that changes with age though. The lack of house buying i think contributes to a lack of interest in local community matters. Nobody's parents or grandparents live here, and nobody brings up kids here, you're just a passer by until you can afford to buy, or move out and buy somewhere you might become permanently connected with.
As a result - politics is a different beast. I'm moving from Justine Greening's safe seat to Chukka Umuna's safe seat... So I'm more likely to vote to air my opinion on national issues based on my work life rather than local ones. Different perspectives i guess, and different problems.
