It's definitely a different world in London, it doesn't mean it's a bad thing, or a good thing! There's much less a sense of community in the majority of areas i've lived thus far - i think that changes with age though. The lack of house buying i think contributes to a lack of interest in local community matters. Nobody's parents or grandparents live here, and nobody brings up kids here, you're just a passer by until you can afford to buy, or move out and buy somewhere you might become permanently connected with.

As a result - politics is a different beast. I'm moving from Justine Greening's safe seat to Chukka Umuna's safe seat... So I'm more likely to vote to air my opinion on national issues based on my work life rather than local ones. Different perspectives i guess, and different problems.

I can't vote as you know, but it would be a difficult one.

Heart says vote UKIP, but strategically I would say vote conservative to avoid at all cost a labour disaster.

No one who listened to

Toe curling cruelty, honestly thought she was going to play possum and pass out in the box

Well there's a surprise - a forum for owners of expensive cars voting a huge majority Conservative

Down here the IOW has been traditionally Tory for years - Andrew Turner ( Tory Candidate ) has been our MP for 14 years but has blotted his copybook so much in the last couple of years ( expenses and other dubious shenanigans ) I reckon he will be lucky to come third behind UKIP and the Green Party. If he had come round to my house canvassing as he has in years gone by I could have told him what he needed to do to regain some credibility ie just pay the money back - what he did ,like others , may have been within the rules but but was morally wrong.

How does it work on the local elections that you can select two boxes?

do zeddrivers get progressively more right wing as engine sizes increase? ie. a 2litre owner may vote green and an ///m driver blue? with 2.5 ers orange or red ?

You know that feeling when you read something but then wish you hadn't, as the predictability of it all only serves to reinforce what you already knew but hoped wasn't true...

So Clegg has gone, Miliband has gone, Farage has gone... Though the Crankies have stolen Scotland... things are going to work out nicely for DC if he works fast whilst every other party is in disarray. Even yesterday you'd have gotten great odds on this happening - £100 down the bookies would have been very well spent !

whats peoples thoughts on proportional representation?

seems like the minority and controlling things at the moment

Someone in Scotland won £210,000 by betting on the Conservatives getting a majority - wonder if it was the treasurer of the SNP...?
