Found A Mistake In My Contract

Found an error in my contract today. Added some extras to my original order for a 2.0 but the car is now detailed as a 1.8. Not sure if its gone into production, but somewhat annoying if no change can be made.

Went in today but have to wait till tomorrow for a full answer. Will be very annoying if it can't be corrected for the original delivery date.

Don't worry, law is on your side here. You haven't accepted the car yet. Technically you could still walk away from the deal as it is deemed not to meet your needs as a deal breaker. The dealer will want you to have the 2.0i... Bigger price.

They've been unable to give me an answer regarding this today, although I've spoken to them. Not particularly encouraging.

Has the base price changed from the 2.0 to a 1.8 on your contract? Or did they originally mess up the order before you added the extras

Original order and contract was 2.0, revised one is 1.8. The discount on the 2.0 is greater than the 1.8 so negates the difference although looking at it the base price of the car is lower.

Yea they've made the mistake then, I cant see it being too much of an issue. If your delivery date isn't until end of june it most probably won't start getting made for a couple of weeks still. They should be able to ammend it easily.
I made all sorts of changes to mine today and they said its fine (my delivery is for end of June). Just keep hassling them and dont let them fob you off.

I hope you have proof the original order was for a 2.0??
Can I I presume the salesman added extras and in error changed the base model down.

Let me know if you struggle. My daughters' just sat the toughest exam of her life today on sale and supply of goods with special focus on trade to consumer and the consumer's remedies :)

Ordered mine 28th April. Just make sure you are firm with them and say you are extremely dissapointed with their mistake. Just don't let them twist it on you. To be honest, I really don't see it being an issue. Try resolving it asap and go and see the actual salesman you dealt with. Let us know how it goes!

Cheers. You ordered about a week after me, so there's some hope :) same guy did lose a sale to a friend though as didn't get back to them. I'll press them for some freebies, seems like I'm doing all the hard work chasing them.

m sport is the complimentary upgrade.

Wow what a boob.

sorry but I am missing something. you went in to order a 2.0 ordered a 2.0 and you end up may end up with a 1.8. bit confused really I went in to purchase a 2.8 and I got a 2.8 (hopefully tomorrow pm). not difficult to spot on the invoice before you sign and drop the deposit.

If the sales record shows a 2.0 then its gonna be a 2.0 forget whats been sent after. clerical errors, and just hope thats not whats on the track now.

I would go in and ask what is on the build order and ensure its the 2.0 if not then cancel. and reorder now with the complimentary m sport upgrade

Simon, i tried private messaging you but it wont send for some reason. I emailed you instead, have a look when you get a chance, cheers.

Jaz, he is saying his original order was a 2.0 but later he added an extra and reprinted the order form but later realised the salesman changed the amended order to a 1.8.

The complimentary msport upgrade only applies to cash deals. If you finance it you pay for the msport but get the 2.9 percent apr deal as far as i am aware

Jaz4 - I saw on the main bmw site that the msport package was complimentary, I wasn't sure if that was included in the dealer deposit as I just went for the offer. When adding options without it I got quoted the price for the upgrades without the msport package, so the 19" wheels were a lot more and I had to pay for brushed aluminium. Have I completely screwed up here?

As far as the engine is concerned I signed the first contract for a 2.0 with the options I wanted. The second contract when I added more options said 1.8. I do hope it's a clerical error.

Ut - I'll have a look now.

The free m sport upgrade only applied to cars ordered before the end of March according to the bmw website - http://content.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/offers/current_offers_details/0,,1156___bs-WjQ%3D@bb-RTg5X1JP@sot-bmV3X2Nhcl9maW5hbmNl,00.html

I've had a call this morning, looks like I'm making another trip in to go over things.

You can choose either the msport upgrade or the 2.9% apr deal, you cant have them both according to what my dealer said. So if you are a finance buyer you will pay the full price for msport.
