Found A Mistake In My Contract

My neighbours brother is a bmw salesman. Didn't find out till I asked them about the provenance of their bmw after I was screwed over. Just came about after a random conversation asking whether they had problems with the local dealer. So do have a bit of leverage there as I know I'll be sorted out without this grief. I'd much rather get something back than walk elsewhere if possible. Much as I'd like to withdraw my business and see them get no money from them, I don't want to cut my nose off to spite my face. I'll have to see what tomorrow brings and what they are prepared to bring to the table.
 
I confirm that BMW UK do have such loan cars and I got a brand new 3 series M Sport whilst I had the trouble with mine sorted out. The actual car is provided by enterprise so that BMW still make money when the cars aren't in use.

Z4 is a little rare though, especially in the UK.
 
Keith are you sure that just wasnt your dealer? Or do u think its a nationwide thing. I only ask because my dealer said they stopped doing loan cars about 3 years ago.
 
Third party basic shortfall was a bit more, around 130 to 190 when I looked into it. I originally asked for idrive to be added but the car is allegedly in the build process where it can't be amended. I'm going to push for the service plu package on top of the basic one I already have and tyres.
 
The shortfall, or gap insurance from BMW is a poor policy. they try and flog it at roughly £500, but they make a huge profit on that.

Ask how much it covers....mostly they only give you £10k for 3 years. In my situation, with a 4 year PCP, £10k wouldn't help near the 4 yrs mark.

I went with ALA in the end, got 4yrs cover of £22.5k for less than £200 (cant remember now how much).

Don't know what your circumstances are, but make sure you get the facts before accepting it.

They do do a policy that offers £20k also.

It looks like you want to change the spec anyway so, as they've lied to you, you've got the opportunity to get your money back and place a new order through another dealer

If you've decided that you want things like iDrive and end up with a car without it, you'll never be completely happy - BTDTGTTS

Like a lot have suggested, get your money back and go elsewhere....

Seems like your happy to be regularly fobbed off so carry on, you might get a magic tree thrown in. :rofl:
 
I think that the dealer (at all levels) has demonstrated that they are not capable of providing you with reasonable service during what should be a very exciting time. It must have taken the shine off the new car experience. Remember you are spending a good chunk of your hard earned cash. You are doing them the favour spending it with them!

I feel sure that if you tell another dealer how you've been treated that they will do their best to impress and distance themselves from your current dealer.
 
There's us no way your car is being built for Aug, it probably takes a week tops plus two to three weeks delivery for customs and pdi etc if delivered from Europe - there pulling your pud!!!
 
To confirm the loan car I got was from BMW UK. They tried to get me a Z4 but couldn't, they gave me a 3 series sport instead.

Keith, did you just call the bmw head office, what did u say? Or did u ask the dealer to get it off them?

Mainly because I have the opportunity of getting freebies thrown in now. I could cancel and go elsewhere, maybe have the deal matched but lose out on those.

I will ask for the magic tree when I go back to them. :)

There is no way you'll get a magic tree out of them!!!!!!
 
My complaint was direct with BMW however by this stage I was already in a binding contract and taken the car. They may just refer you back to the dealer
 
BMW said 11 days is too long for them to give me a loan car while I wait for mine and they said they only do it if the delay is longer than a month :headbang:
