Unless you've provided a compelling case to keep your licence I reckon you'll get a ban. It's usually an automatic ban unless you can persuade them it is not the right course of action. I am a firm believer you should always turn up at the magistrates court, say you are sorry and that you apologise for wasting their time. That way you get less of an arse kicking than you do if you don't turn up. It saved me from a ban many years ago put it that way.

+1. I attended and I knew what was coming, didn't have any representation and the Sheriff was very nice and accepted what I had to say which all helped towards my case. But honestly the sights you will see when you attend. It's like a weekly meet for the neds

I want to know where you get all this good stuff from ........ :rofl:

Anyway, all may not be lost as yet ...... death may not actually be inevitable ...... after digging around a bit I have discovered that ....

1) where a ban is a possibility (101 mph on the motorway most definitely is) then the summons can be answered by post, but you will always be requested to attend for sentencing .............. because

2) before they can pass sentence, you have to be allowed to plea mitigating circumstances ...... and you have to be there for that to happen.


So all I have to do now is come up with something to convince the Beak to reduce the sentence from Hanging to a Slap on the Arse ........ any suggestions welcome .....

I'm thinking of a line from "Rock an Rolla" ...... where Johnny Quid says ....... " Don't hurt me Arch ........ I'm only little ....... "

Like to suggest you share some serious humble pie, make the court aware you fully appreciate this is license loosing territory ... so maybe you could simply ask the judge what you would need to do not to be banned

just about to iron a shirt, see if I still own a tie, blow the dust off a suit I last wore 10 years ago .....
