Here's another piece of good news as well .......

Just phoned the RAC Insurance folks ..... gave them the conviction details ....... the increased premium for the 3 policies I have is a whopping ........ errrrrrr ..... 8 pounds :thumbsup:

They can not increase the premium mid year! The contract is for the year and NO price increases can be implemented mid policy.

Thats true, but one of the cars is up for renewal this week ...... was just waiting for the court case result before I renewed it
 
I wouldn't say it was great news, definitely a relief, but certainly could have been a lot worse, £400 :o

Check your small print, changes to the information given at the time of purchase can invalidate the insurance or increase the premium and you must let them know too. If they can get out if paying and all that

That's a pretty decent result - you must be somewhat relieved. Scary news re custodial for speed level alone with no careless aspect etc. well worth noting !

The dreadful aspect is the company you were in for a one off 'responsible' speeding. Was time and place, road conditions and condition of tyres and car taken into account - doubt it. To criminalise someone for such behaviour. . . now irresponsible speeding, speeding in a built up area or dangerous driving that's another matter.

Considering the possible outcomes you must be relieved - still on the road and £400 - as you say - a good outcome.

+1 enjoy that hoon - carefully.
 
A whole new world out there ...... I've discovered there are different kinds of drivers out there ...... theres the no points at all on my licence types, who drive around at the speed limit or 10% above ........
and theres them that have loadsa points who drive around at 5 mph below the speed limit .....

I used to find the latter group errrrrrr annoying ......... until I became one of them :D

You'll find that attaching a chunk of 2x4 to the underside of the right-hand pedal will help ensure you get no further points :thumbsup:

Discovered something else that helps a well ......
If you look under the steering column, theres a lever that allows you to change the position of the steering wheel.
If you lift the steering wheel just a little , you can actually see the speedometer whilst you are driving .....
Who knew ........ :rofl:
