Popped into the local court today to complete phase one lol .....
even the girl in the fiscals's office had a wee laugh ..... turned over my cherry virgin licence and the paper copy thing....... she gave me a receipt ...... "in case you go down the M8 again, you will need it lol" .....

as others have already pointed out - inappropriate speed is what does for you - you could be on a 60 limit road with a 30 mph max bend on it - try going around at 60 (cos its the limit) and see how one fairs...

Well this does not sound good .........
Just phoned the court, and they have accepted my guilty plea, but I have to appear in person on 8th May for sentencing ....... which as I understand it means ....... a ban.
If it were points and a fine I believe it would have been dealt with there and then ......noooooeeeerrrrr

ouch... unlucky...
Just heard someplace else that 100 mph on a motorway ALWAYS means a personal appearance, wish they had told me that at the beginning so I could have got it over with today .....
As its all about court discretion, a fine and points is still a possibility I understand .... will soon find I guess ..... another 2 weeks of stress then ....

I did say you'd be best to go in person and get it over with. Unless you have a lawyer arguing why you can't loose your license your most likely to get a ban.
Bit of a bummer that, hopefully it's just a fine and points but highly doubtful. Look at it this way, 2 weeks more driving but on the other side if it is a ban it'll be an extra two weeks on the end of it.
I assume you also provided then with your income and experture which is needed to calculate the fine if there is one?
A pal of mine got captured on the A69 on the day of Diana's funeral - 132mph on his Fireblade - They only caught up with him many miles later!
He got a £300 (ish) fine and a 28 day Ban - The ban was over Christmas time so it didn't matter that much. The boss did write a letter grovelling that he shouldn't be banned and how important he was to the world etc. so all in all not a bad result.
I hope you do no worse than that!
