I don't always drive with my penis in my hand, but I'm not insulted you mentioned it - just a little embarrassed :D

That grin suggests you aren't embarrassed.

Thank you for that reply. It made my evening.

Crikey - all these comments on a thread where the OP is smashing it, gets caught, admits it's a fair cop and removes trousers waiting for the inevitable smacked arse. Surely all is left to do is express commiserations, recommend a good lawyer and express gratitude that it wasn't you. Job done!!

I don't think he wanted a sermon on speeding, cycling or anything else!!! :)

Bingy, don't you drive a manual? In which case having one hand on you cock is very dangerous, get an auto.
I have to steer with my knee as my old fella is a two hander, thank god I've got an auto otherwise I'd really struggle! :P

That's a relief - Luxy's back on form. He's posted a couple of serious replies recently. I was worried about him. Panic over!!

................. back on track for just a moment (yes I know, I'm sorry .......)

I'm reading here that a magistrate will only impose points, points and a fine or a ban ......... it says here that if a ban is imposed, there can be no points and a fine ....... anybody know how true that is ?

It also says that you may be able plead guilty by letter .......and not attend court, ..... attendance only required if a ban is being considered.

All very new to this you know ....... :D

Also says, driving abroad on a Foreign licence is totally unaffected ....?????

All views, comments and totally off subject replies welcome ............

A ban = no points.

A short ban is cheaper for insurance purposes than say 6 or 9 points. That is based on general reading of similar cases on Pepipoo, so have not verified the figures myself. Also, driving with 6 or 9 points for 3 years is annoying ...

The foreign license bit is that you would only be banned in the UK, not in the country of your license or elsewhere for that matter.

I sent a letter in for my court date, didn't need to turn up and just called later on in the afternoon to find out the outcome...

Magistrates like people to turn up and give them some flannel about being interested to see how the system dispenses justice. Blah blah. Butter them up.

As I was pleading guilty (to a lesser charge) I was told not to attend and waste their time...

Just finished a shift at Melville and heading home - M8 was shut it was 10:30 so they must have been doing essential roadworks. Down to the roundabout on the A8 and swung down to head past Gogar and on to Broxburn past the airport - was planning on stopping at the BP at the airport for some diesel. But as I came down the slip to the A8 it went a little wierd - guy nearly sideswiped me and it just peeved me off if Id not been quick Id have been in the verge. Anyways pulled out past and headed home thought about a chippy and didnt bother with the BP. Wasnt hanging about road was quiet - next car was on the right side on the approach to Newbridge - I kept left and swung round the roundabout just catching the light changes at the right time..... On to the broxburn road and foot down.... Then back of car lit up like a christmas tree......

Sir we have been following you and would like you show you a little video. I sat in the back of the volvo and listened to the running commentary - they were pleased to see my awareness at preventing being side swipped by the car at the start and then went on to say it all went down hill from then on - speeding and although positioning on the road was good being preventive by moving out and ensuring that I wasnt going to get in the way of others comming on to the road etc..... However 90 past the BP and slowing down to around 60 for Newbridge and taking the roundabout thew way I did would have been good on a racetrack but not the A89.....

They listed a load of possible code infringements or I could agree to take an SP30... so it was the Sp30.

Remember you will be prosecuted under Scottish law by a sheriff not a magistrate. In Scotland you can get points, a fine and a ban. You'll at least get 2 out of three either a ban and a fine or points and a fine. There's not a lot out there for scottish law road traffic it's mostly English law which is what you've been reading.

As anything over 100mph usually carries a ban I think you will have to attend. I know some folk have managed to avoid the ban due to having to drive for their work but most get a ban and we don't get the take a safety awareness course eye like they do down south.

Now back to the off topics :)
