Well, attempting to get this back on track...

Someone I know got caught doing over the Ton (110mph) and because it fell into a 'unique band' it couldn't be dealt with by the usual fixed penalty method, he had to wait for a Court Date. Due to the Courts being to busy and also Council budget restraints it took ages to come to Court.
Eventually 12 months passed and the opportunity to be taken to Court expired. He even got a letter from the Magistrates (or Police) saying that he could no longer be prosecuted for the offence !

The irony is that if doing 90 or so he would have got stung by the usual procedures but as it was in excess of 100mph, he actually got away with it...

You may be lucky yet....

Did said person lose their license during the time it took to process? Interesting scenario..

At some point I am going to get up really, really early on a Sunday, find a quiet stretch of empty motorway and vmax my Z. Be rude not to do it at least once. Probably scare the sh1t out of myself :D

Friend of mine did that Bing - brand new RS4 that he'd owned 24h and a completely empty Scottish road at 5am.... He got a six month ban after being stopped by plod! I'd recommend driving the road at the speed limit first to scout it out!

This I shall do. I'll start earlier too :D

If you're gona cover the plates you should probably wear a balaclava and get the car wrapped in that black/white chequered disguise stuff they use when testing new cars.

Alternatively we could organise a forum airfield excursion, i'd love a chance to practice handling!

Or just go on one of the German trips that I have organised over the years. Unlimited roads, fantastic scenery

Sure, have not organised one for a couple of years but it might be time again to do this one again.

Thread about speeding tickets turns into a track day and road trip discussion - true enthusiasts ;)

Time for a picture then of our last trip :)

Ah yes, that happened on a Swiss run where one of the guys got done for 120 in a tunnel. Banned for 3 months in Switzerland I think, also a boy racer at about 60 :D

pvr ...... set it up, if Ruby is game its official :D

I'm there! As long as someone in front of me agrees not to lose me

Incident today that I nearly ended up being involved with (in Polo) nearly caused completely by 2 extremely low speed drivers, well below the limit. I won't go into details but thankfully all ok. Made me think of this thread though.

Oh and I wasn't speeding.

The German runs have been very close run. Done it 3 times now, never lost anyone yet - and the roads are so empty in the area we go that there is no chance of losing anyone.
