I thought I was having fun with a BMW 335d on an otherwise empty motorway but it turned out the bastard was just gathering evidence against me and wasn't having any fun at all!

Tim.

kevinmarkwhite said:Tim - yes, going over the limit is illegal, no one can deny that, and the Police are only doing their job.
Ultimately there is no excuse, expect perhaps in a limited number of cases.
However, until the attitude changes from "worried about getting caught" to "worried about having a crash" it is not going to change.
I am much better with my adhesion to the correct limits nowadays, but might have some "moments"....
Also, some of the limits are too low for the conditions, even though I admit the law is the law. Also, as I mentioned earlier, what about the people that drive too slow for the road? It should be illegal to drive at say, 50 on the motorway when everyone else is doing 70ish.
The other factor, apart from road conditions, are driver ability - I take note about my earlier Z4M comment....I would HOPE anyone with such a car also has the ability, but agree, some wont.
Tim - no need for the flood water comment - is that a dig at someone? Out of context in this thread.

EH?
how is it better to die at 50 than 100?
Surely the outcome is the same - you are dead
