fitting Intravee

Hi guys. I know there are lots of posts on this however I am getting confused.
I am tempted to fit an intravee and alpine thingy. I have a coupe with Nav, bluetooth and multichanger are there any difficulties I should be aware of with my particular set up?
Thanks for any input.

Coupe - easier to fit then the roadster at least. I have done one of each.

Your multichanger - you will lose that if you connect the Intravee (unless you have a switch). Where are you planning to fit it?

You're fairly local to me if I remember rightly (you dropped the roof covers into the office)

If you get stuck let me know, I've fitted mine to two cars now. Happy to lend a hand, it's a shortish job to do.

Bluetooth module is not touched you just need the wiring that is currently plugged into your CD changer hence the reason you lose it's functionality (unless you buy an additional switch to allow you to toggle between CD changer and iPod but tbh this sort of defeats the object of going down the Intravee route in the first place). Most people just leave their CD changers insitu as they are a bitch to get out plus you can revert back if you want to sell the car and retain the Intravee.

Hide the Alpine unit in the boot behind the carpet as you will never need to access it but the Intravee you may want a little more accessible for firmware updates (I drilled a small hole in the plastic at the back of the centre cubby and put mine in there but others have put them behind the boot carpet with the Alpine and just left an accessible serial cable connected for updates).

I bought a brand new Intravee II from toysinyourcar.com for £150 and a second hand Alpine unit with all the cables for £30 off Ebay. I've just looked at the toysinyourcar.com website and it seems to be down - anyone know if this means they are no longer trading?

Good luck with your install anyway.

RichardP has said there is a technical issue with website but Intravee still being sold and supported.

There you go then - a brand new Intravee is the way to go as they are about the same price second hand!

I would get a modified KCA-420 thingy (as I did) that will wake the ipod should it go to sleep. Now I must get round to getting an intravee!!!
