Boot shelf fitting

I have just joined the forum as I have bought my first Z4 and she is a beauty! However, it arrived with a rattle in the boot and on close inspection I found that plastic bar with the four holes in it attached to the net, isn't connected to anything. I have circled the bit I refer to in red in the image attached.

It looks like it should connect to the four plastic clips on the back of the boot area, but it won't get close enough. I have searched high and low for images or another part that fits between and hope someone can show me how to connect it to the car.

thanks in advance!

Yup it fits to the rear bulkhead with 4 push fit trim pieces…

Should be straight foreword to fit

You need to do it with the boot lid open and the roof forward to get good access

You may not get it attached.
It looks like the previous owner has replaced the panel (with the net) from a later model Z4. On the later year models the hole in the bulkhead panel is elongated to match the shape of the plastic bar of the net. The photo of your bulkhead shows the holes to be round (earlier version) so it wont go in, without drastic modification.
