Fitting? Gaptech - Worth the outlay - Now buying.

I assume the Gaptech in no way bypasses BMW's safety feature that prevents the roof from opening/closing above a certain speed?
That is, pressing the open or close button on the console won't activate the open/close function if the car is above the speed determined to be unsafe to operate the roof?
Can't imagine they'd design anything that would allow this potential disaster but just thought I'd ask...
I'm tempted to get one at 25% off as the discount will probably cover postage. Just have to find out if they ship over here.

i had read the supplied blocks could be a pain, and low and behold.... the 1st time it clipped them all together it didn't work 
although..... a quick wiggle and recheck of them all and it worked fine and has done ever since (a year) I suppose its just down to luck/skill how well you connect the clips (more luck in my case haha)

I'm tempted but even with 25% off I still think they're expensive. I can already lower the roof using my key fob and find it hard to justify £95 just for the one touch feature and being able to raise the hood from the fob, especially as I've got an auto so holding my finger on the button as I pull away isn't difficult.
No doubt I'll end up buying one anyway :roll:

Deffo good to know as I had not thought of a passenger pressing the roof button at 100mph instead of heated seats or something

Personally, I don't like them as they partially sever the wire, this creates a weak spot that can break. I'd rather cut the wire and crimp on insulated bullet connectors instead. Crimping is the preferred way to make a strong physical connection between wires as it gives a more consistent connection and also reduces strain as the end of crimped connector grips the insulation of the wire rather than the wire itself.
