Fitting? Gaptech - Worth the outlay - Now buying.

When I had my Zed I thought the Gaptech was a great touch,

It was handy when it starts to rain when you have the roof down too, come to a stop and push the button and let it do its work instead of trying to hold it and move the car at the same time.

Also enjoyed walking towards the car and dropping the roof from the key too, I only had a 53 plate and this feature wasn't available on my car.

Hi,

I love mine...and fairly easy to install (soldered)...even with my limited ability!

Go get it...

Once you've had one you can't live without it. Never sit in the Zed pressing buttons anymore.
If you want to look cool in Asda car park this is the mod for you

Dave, if you're in Asda Car park, you're not looking cool anyway...
Waitrose maybe, but not Asda

I'm sold on the RCH+ so I'll definitely be getting one in Feb when my bonus comes in. £95 is not too bad at all and I quite like the idea of the 'one touch' function while in the car.

Just a word of caution, if your battery is getting on a bit operating the roof remotely can take a fair bit of power and could mean you cannot then start the car. The recommendation is always to only operate the roof when the engine is running.

Just purchase, its a handy mod.

If you dont like you will always get 75% of your money back selling it on here as its a desirable mod

+1 - one of the best and simplest mods done to both my Zeds
Both your Zeds? Claiming ownership on your old one? Tssss

I was a bit like this before i got mine, do I need it etc. Got by without this on sort of thing on all my previous convertibles. Then the seller of my car dropped in the conversation as i was viewing it, "oh by the way I fitted this little device that controls the roof from the key" sure enough it was the Gaptech +. Now I have it and got used to using it, if it failed I would definitely buy another one straight away. Its the best £100+ I'VE NEVER SPENT! LOL

Seriously though you do start using it in ways you don't initially think about. One example is when I come back to the car in a car park and a vehicle is parked quite close to it, three presses of the key as I approach the car and hey presto roof drops and getting in is a damned sight easier with the roof down, particularly in a confined space. Sames true when parking in a car park and leaving, that extra head room makes getting in and out so much easier and again three presses the roof goes up and the car locks as your walking away.

My advice get one and you won't regret it, nice selling point in the future if you sell privately or as others have said its so easy to remove you could sell it on here/ebay etc and recoup a goodly portion of what it has cost you.

Just clocked on their website they are on sale 25% off at the moment, might be a good time to buy and just the leverage you need on the missus to buy now!

The one touch drop is great but the best thing is the auto close as your walking away...so nice as youre casually walking away and look over your shoulder and its closing up on its own...very cool and worth the money for that feature alone

I got mine from a forum member and very pleased with it. Push the fob and walk away as car closes roof, Windows and locks. Was great in summer to allow hot cabin to be a bit cooler by the time you got sat in the car

First mod I did and couldn't be without it. Can't say I use the remote to open and close much but when I do it certainly draws attention but the one touch function to open and close is great and like someone else mentioned you can set off while the roof is in motion. Well worth the money and easy to fit.

The roof becomes a giant sail if you open/close it while driving along & that's why bmw didn't allow that function, I've only tried it in 1st or 2nd gear at a slow pace as I'm afraid it could become damaged :|
Regards

I've done the coding to give 'comfort open' for the roof, but agree it would be a lot easier to only have to press the button once (either on the key fob or inside the car) to achieve the same thing instead of having to hold for the duration of opening/closing.
