Anyone tried them ? getting rid of the conti supersports on the front as they've cracked badly , so have been told by garage the evergreen is a good alternative .

They're lying because they make a bigger margin on the cheap tyres.

You'd be absolutely bananas to stick cheap tyres on a 340 bhp car.

Pay the extra, its you life your risking.

The previous owner of mine had attached the patented 'ling long' ditch finders and it ruins the car.

Are you serious :o :o :o .I wouldn't dream of putting budget tyres on a car like this,no matter how cheap they were   .

If i'm not happy with them I can return them so will try them out , they are both on the front so will be easy to assess. I used to be very nervous of unheared of names but have read the user assessments and many have used them on high bhp cars and been surprised. I agree with your comments , if they are rubbish they are going back !

I'd check the returns details, ie cost to restrock, value, as they are used, cost to take off and put others on. I wouldn't chance it. Also if they do fail it might be more than a simple 'return' required.

Andi.

I'm pretty much either Vred's or Michelin PSS.

Tyres are such a critical part of a performance car, the most 'budget' you should go would be Vred's imo, they seem great on mine for the dollah.

Plenty decent tyres around for Vred price. Plenty.

How much are these evergreens?

Surely if you can afford to buy and maintain a high performance M you can at least afford to put on decent rubber. I've only got a 2.0i but I choose to put on Goodyear Eagle F1's for peace of mind and good road holding on wet surfaces.

Mixed reviews here

Michelin PSS or Vred Ultrac Sessanta seem to be popular choices.

Sticking a set of the Vreds on next week. Have read all the posts/reviews etc and decided to see if they're as good as the general consensus seems to be. Have an epic road trip coming up so will definitely know by the end of August.

Like most on here, "boots and anchors" are where I spend the most diligence before parting with my cash.

I'd never put budget tyres on a performance car, my company put Autogrip tyres on the front of my Company Alpina D3BT, they were shocking, never mind understeer, it was never steer, just used to go straight on, if the road was damp, never mind wet, even worse, when I got my A5 the FD had the Alpina and changed them straight away, they wouldn't change them for me :headbang:
