Z3 ///MR - EVERGREEN

Nice spec - but I've got to be honest the colour is not for me.

Always knew you were a roadster owner at heart-Steven

Not sure what is wrong with me but I really like that, think the interior looks wonderful! Much prefer it without the hardtop don't think the hardtop suits either the Z3 or Z4 and the black roof breaks the colour up nicely. Love those deep rear alloys. Dreadful 'Clarkson' name of the dealer though. Are you seriously considering purchasing this StevenH?

It is overpriced at the moment, but if we can agree on a deal than yeh I am definitely interested.

I've got to try to own all the 2 seaters I want to own before SWMBO decides we need some mini-me's running around.

Only where the Z3 is concerned......and the 1st Gen Mustangs, would love a 65 mustang at one point. :driving:

I am actually popping down to see the car on Saturday.

The Z3 roadster was a boy hood dream car for me, so would be a great opportunity to own a nice rare one. Albeit an expensive one, but sometimes the heart rules the head

Tim, is there anything in particular to look out for that you could advise? Obviously I'll be doing extra research over the next few days but any pointers you can give would be fantastic.

Good man,

Z3s are pretty bullet proof but check Vanos once thoroughly warned up you will know from a rattly noise. Achilles heel is rear diff mount as the diff can stress the mount and pop the boot welds and potentially crack boot floor so check welds at back of boot. Ideally if you can get under the car check condition of mounting bracket. If the spot welds have popped they can be easily sorted for 2 to 300 quid. Check there's no clonking from the diff when changing gears. Roofs can leak from corner of roof with windscreen pillar but usually blocked drain channel. Check rear parcel or hood stowage compartment isn't wet or stained as not unknown to leak at rear of hood. Check instrument panels light up as changing a bulb is a pain. Make sure central locking, boot light and all rear brake lights work as if not the wiring loom may have fractured where it enters the boot lid. Had mine replaced last year.

Apart from that the usual.

Tim.

Cheers Tim, really appreciate it. Will give it a good look over.

I'll report back Saturday evening

I like it  I've always thought the Z3 looks best in bold colours rather than the usual silver, black etc. Visited a customer earlier today. His immaculate Dakar Yellow Z3MR was parked outside his workshop. It looked stunning.

Unfortunately, I was not able to get over to Reading to view the car. Was at an airport in Germany when I got a call from the garage. My business trip got prolonged, so I flew home yesterday rather than Thursday and completely forgot about my appointment

The Z3 will be a compliment to the Z4, won't be getting rid of the carbon black ///M any time soon.
